Steve Mason makes John Ireland sound like a basketball genius. Like Savory said above, Mason knows baseball, a little football, and for the rest he just throws stuff at the wall.
Has to be his idea, im not sure anyone pointed it out but we cant trade 2019 1st yet due to stipen rule, we lose 2018 so have to wait till 18' draft is done
I think we all want PG13 in Purple and Gold. But do you have a limit on what we send out? I'm in the Ball Camp, but I'd send #2, Randle (or Clarkson) and Deng. I'd also try to include Houston 28 for 18 in the draft. Anything more than that and I'd feel like we lost the trade. In order of who I don't want to lose, I'd say Ingram, #2, DAngelo, Zu, Randle, and then Clarkson. I wouldn't care about losing anyone else.
Same but I've got Lance before Clarkson. Cost, ability to make Randle expendable in a trade put him above JC. It's very questionable whether Clarkson even earns his full pay. The expectation on him with that deal was growth and we didn't see that last year. Don't care about the coach change excuse. He should have grown which he did not, certainly not in a 3&D role which is what we need if we take Ball. If we take Fox than it's duplicate and he becomes a must-go for obvious reasons. Nevertheless he's tradeable and I'm not only ok with seeing him go, I hope it goes down. He was in on the '16 "Summer of Money" and I think salaries are going to calm down a bit after FOs like Mitch and Jim turned the market upside down with their paranoid idiocy.
I'm really not giving up much if George doesn't sign an extension before the trade. I'm not giving up our #2 pick, Randle, Clarkson, whatever for a guy who could ultimately walk in the summer, no matter how much it sounds like he wants to be here.
Thank you Real for making Sense! Roll the dice this year and wait for pg to come sign, simple as that.
I'm sure the Lakers would love to make a splash this summer, but only if it's the right move. I don't see them trading big pieces for George without a secondary option in place and I definitely don't see them giving up much for him. Our price and the Pacer's price are likely very different right now. Let's see where we're at when the deadline hits. I don't mind taking a risk to wait, but it's a risk to trade for him too.
Trade for Jimmy Butler and get George next year. Then you have a shot playing against GSW after that. Dlo, Clarkson, Deng, #28 for Jimmy Butler. Then you sign PG13 without needing to give anything up and have more money to add vets. It will also give Ingram another year and off-season to add some weight and play PF. Ball Butler George Ingram Zubac Randle 6th man like LO.
I've read people on other forums speculating that George would like to play with Randle. They share an agent and didn't we recently see a picture of them working out together. Some have said that's one thing PG means when he's putting it out there not to gut the team in a trade for him. So no, I'd be very hesitant to trade even Randle for him now. The #2 pick, no way, that player has a chance to be great for us for years whether it's Ball, Fultz, Fox, etc. I don't trade that unless it's straight up with no other good pieces and PG signs an extension. No gambling on him being able to walk and then we watch whoever we would have taken at 2 go on to be awesome on another team.
