Woj right now says: Chicago wants functional pieces, not a full rebuild which is why they aren't taking Boston's offer. (fits our needs though).

He says the Pacers are more thinking about adding pieces around George instead of trading George himself.

Great news for the Lakers as I've felt that the summer is better timing for a deal. Keeping that Top 3 pick will be huge.

They want a 1st alone for Gibson, we wouldn't be close on that offer.

We could probably swing something his summer though.

They want functional pieces but doesn't mean they are just foregoing getting high upside talent too.

My guess is Gallinari, Chandler and draft considerations.

"Monster offer" is a purely subjective term haha

I'm guessing Mudiay, Gallinari, Chandler, maybe Faried and a 1st.

Did he forget the Lakers play in the West?

OR Is he basically implying he is headed to Boston?

Agreed and I also have to say a big "You were right Eddie, Eddie" about the importance of keeping the pick this year. I'm still not pro-tanking, but at this point now with the change of management and trading away any vets we can, it really is a vital piece. Of course it's still luck whether we get to keep the pick or not.

That would have been a "monster offer" like 4 years ago. Replacing Mudiay with "future 1st round pick" of course.

You know that's what Bird will do if he has to move him. Just like McHale did with KD.

I mean I can't imagine what else they were offering... could be more picks maybe. I would think the Nuggets consider that a "monster" deal. It's half their team. :D

I was on the Scout board for years and no one has ever said I was right. Even when I was. Which, not to toot my own horn, was like a solid 50% of the time. Thank you @lakerjones for making my day hahaha

Back on topic, trading Lou (and potentially Young) and not trading for George/Butler helps the Lakers "not win games". We'll see how the final record pans out but yeah, definitely hoping the luck works in our favor like it has the last 2 years. It'd be funny if we got the #2 pick 3 years in a row.

Birds of a feather...stick together. Too much history with them. I remember McHale refusing to trade Gugliotta to us back in the day.
