he shouldnt be considered a player that was already in the court as checkin wasnt official. he wont get suspended being a "star" but if rules are rules he should be suspended for being a bench player
Steven Adams & Russ were both about to check in (check out he 6 second mark in the video below) and with Rudy getting a foul call, the refs would allow both to enter the game after the 1st free throw was taken by Rudy. However the refs weren't able to waive Russ and Adams in cause that 1st free throw took some time to transpire. Someone needs to explain to Felton what "making a play on the ball" really means...anyways, Rudy took some time to walk off the low blow and during that time, Russ (without the refs whistling him in as an eligible player) steps onto the court to confront him, while Khaldams (who is usually the 1st dude to a scrum) was nowhere to be found. This is what OKC will miss if Russ gets a suspension... Meanwhile, Rudy's balls seem to be all the rage, but its really about that D tho...
If the NBA suspends Russ for that, they’re softer than I thought. Won’t happen though, no way, he’s too big a star, this is the playoffs, and suspending him almost guarantees the Thunder lose. Not to mention if they suspend him and I’m an OKC fan I demand like half my ticket price back, paid for by the league office. The series should play out as is, everyone available, everyone healthy, may the best team win.
Paul George isn't meant to be the end game. He is the first domino to fall. From the past 4-5 seasons has shown, it's really hard for that first domino to fall and this is the greatest chance we have of knocking it down in those 4-5 seasons. PG definitely makes us a playoff team, maybe not a contender but that's why we have room to add someone else this year or next.
OK I asked once and no replies so again honest question did anyone in one of the games so far feel like he's playing any "lock down" defense? Guys get by him and he has problems with picks like everyone else.
yea I mean we're talking bout giving 30mill to a supped up Ariza, so lets give Ariza 15mill a yr and see what happens instead
well Ingles has been lighting him up, so no? lol...he cheats off of his guy alot but I see Utah setting alot of screens to free up their guys against poorer defenders and he seems to have to help off Westbrook ball watching ways as well.
Seen any lockdown D out there .... just asking? I mean on offense creating for himself and the repertoire I've seen in these games Kuzma is more fun to watch. And I bet smokes offensively what PG did in his rookie year? Leaving ages out ... don't know. And in 5 years or so in his prime will smoke what PG is showing now. IMNTBH opinion. So it comes down to Defense and his reputation there. Just haven't been wowed with the way he reacts and moves. Lonzo now is impressive in that regard.
No, to answer your first question, and I for one can't understand why he hasn't guarded Donovan Mitchell. Don't get me wrong; Utah does a great job of putting Mitchell in fantastic positions, but I'm just surprised PG hasn't taken the Alpha approach of saying, "this guy isn't going to get 30 on me." And that's why some of us have been saying, "he isn't THE guy," but he's a fantastic 2nd option.
Yeah. BUT Luke and the fun playing for him with the great guys on this team and being home and having a hot den mom in Jeanie for an owner will do wonders for this guy. He will absolutely blow up as a Laker if he comes.
I wonder if Jeanie sits in on any of the big free agent meetings? Can you imagine the electricity and charisma in that room. Magic freaking Johnson prepared and sincere like no other and fascinating just to talk to with Luke Walton one of the most engaging fun to be around likable and smart basketball guys in the league and Rob Pelinka with his own great aura and then there's Jeanie Buss. So bright and so smart and like one of a kind isn't she as a female owner (?) with the genuine warm personality and still cute after all these years. That is some serious juice at the table with or without Jeanie but almost not fair with her.
Yes Kuzma's rookie year smokes offensively what PG did his rookie year but that wasn't due to an age difference but that Kuzma was afforded the opportunity to produce right away. Kuzma actually led the Lakers with 13.5 shots a game, whereas PG was 7th on his team his rookie season at less than half that at 6.5, mostly because the Pacers were deep - especially at PG's positions of SG and SF. I like Kuzma but to say in 5 years he will smoke what PG is showing now is ridiculously lofty given the stats PG put up this season (21.9ppg 5.7rpg 3.3apg 2.0spg). For Kuzma to "smoke" that, he'd have to be basically Lebron James or James Harden or Russell Westbrook.
Jeanie has the presence and charisma of a fake ficus plant in an office so I can see why she would want to be around that kind of environment.
Maybe "smoke" in 5 years is too much. But he's got a hell of a stroke and could possibly be a better shooter with a wider variety of shots already from what I've seen so far, though not yet the same level of one on one creating and getting separation for himself. From a guy who asks himself what would Kobe do and wants to aspire to the same greatness. We'll see. That's a lot of time to get better. He put up 16 a game in his rookie year. Defense is the other 50% of course and remains to be seen.
I don't think PG is as healthy as we on the outside realize. I'm not trying to make any excuses but he's even echo'd this in the media recently.
I wouldn't ever call something a lock, but you couldn't write up a better scenario if you're a Lakers fan in how this is ending. Utah just needs to close this out. It's one thing if OKC is right there in these game or if their BIG 3 were playing well together. But none of that is happening. OKC had ONE assist in BOTH the 2nd and 3rd quarters for a total of 10 assists for THE ENTIRE GAME.
This is the kind of thing that can bring OKC back from the dead, lets say Westbrook is suspended for Game 5 and OKC wins at home without him. Now they get him back all fired up as a team for what the league did to them, banding together. Win @UTAH and then its all up in the game for Game 7. I'm not calling this but these are the type of things I've seen in my lifetime that can ignite a team. Now OKC has shown little to no life in the last two games, but...... BE CAREFUL.
You better believe she's in that room. She is the controlling owner of the team. If I was a FA and she wasn't in the room that would be a red flag to me.
