Pretty sure we were expecting Utah to slow them down and make them shoot 3’s or try to finish against Gobert in the lane. But what an excellent tactic by Snyder, guys a great coach! My adjustment back would be to spam PnR with Adams to get Gobert into foul trouble. It’s a damn shame Adams is playing injured with his arm and looking like a shell of his regular season self! Awesome series so far!
Portland got smacked by the Pels. Geez, who expected that before the playoffs began? Holiday looking like a beast. AD like an MVP. Mirotic like one of the best two way forwards in the league and Playoff Rondo doing the work. Excited for the GSW series, I hope they put up a proper fight since Curry is meant to be out for the first two games.
I love seeing coaches try to adjust. 4 mins into the first quarter and OKC goes small with Patterson out at the 5, they’re trying to drag Gobert out of the paint with more shooters on the perimeter. If Gobert refuses to leave the paint, they just whip the ball until it’s an open 3. So far they’ve gone on a 13-0 with that adjustment. Adams back in now with some of the reserves.
Jazz are taking away the paint so well in this series. As soon as an OKC player penetrates they just hit Gobert and Favors and try to kick the ball out. Snyder’s adjustment from the first quarter is telling his guards and wings to play the passing lanes after the initial OKC penetration and not to collapse. Because of that they’re just turning them over time and again. Gobert is a beast. I just can’t see how OKC wins this series right now, they aren’t a great shooting team from outside. It’s a 12 point lead to Jazz, and Oddly enough, they should try and go full ISO and clear out for Melo to get back in this game. He is killing anyone on him through 3 quarters.
Props to Rubio. He’s playing amazing tonight, and is performing like a prime Jason Kidd right now (seriously).
Props to Gobert. This game was won on the defensive side. For a good half of the game they were settling for off balance 2’s and highly contested 3’s. Impressive stuff by Utah
Well he's not a top-tier star but he's the best FA available this summer and he's good enough to help us win 45-50 wins. I'll take that.
The thunder straight up gave up. Billy Donovan is a horrible coach, they definitely need to fire his a** and hire a better offense minded coach. Now imagine Paul George playing on a team that plays unselfish 'for each other' ball movement like our team. He'll love it, him on the team alone we'll be like the utah jazz but with more overall talent. .... Come home PG .... come home
OKC down 2-1, I like it. Utah is a hard place to win if you are their opponent. That Utah win in OKC might prove to be pivotal.
