Up until Westbrook signed his extension, it was a frequent refrain among Laker fans that Westbrook was the closest thing to Kobe. Now it's an insult. Westbrook's need to be the engine that drives the ship is obvious. It's a double-edged sword and finding him the right partner is crucial. I thought George might actually fit that bill and by all appearances he's trying, but I'm starting to think that player isn't on the Thunder right now. I don't know who it would be.
but look at the streak he had at last season end, he does go extremes either way but if he has enough help, we would be able to aurvive thru his bad ones
Exactly. His March to playoffs stretch last year was phenomenal. Easily his best and most efficient LONG stretch of impressive and consistent offensive games. Thought he'd pick up where he left off coming into this season which is the reason why I'd hoped he'd gone home. LAL is just as talented if not more as PG-less INDY. But our system now would've been a greater fit for him. So he'll have no problem in resuming that offensive juggernaut. As it is, he's in a terrible OKC team with equally terrible system. I know, we keep saying OKC most probably will get better. But if those two, meaning Melo and WB remain to be their main options, I don't think they'll get better. At least not significantly enough to challenge for a WCF! Sent from my E6533 using Tapatalk
they wont get better imo, they'll win more gms with just sheer talent. the system is iso heavy with okc only doing well if they hit high % of fg n their bench is atrocious
Yeah, comparing Kobe to Russ is a pretty blasphemous statement. Also.... My diagnosis....homesickness.
Demeanor and being relentless is all that comes to mind for me. Never their style and play of the game. Is it an insult? You can argue that..
Westbrook is Kobe without the intelligence. Slightly better athlete, but like many, I’m always curious that if I put Kobe in “x” player’s body, what would be different? If Kobe was in TMac’s body, in Shaq’s body, etc. Westbrook with his footwork, post game, defense, etc? But not giving up rebounding or athleticism? It wouldn’t be very fair. There’s be a new poster out every week of Kobe mercilessly baptizing new players.
Just heard the commentators say Paul George signing a 2 year contract with OKC with a 2nd yr player option. The hell? Sent from my E6533 using Tapatalk
Or maybe they were just referring to the original contract he has with Indiana. A year and another player option left. Sent from my E6533 using Tapatalk
Thunder lose again, to the Magic, 121-108. 8-12 now. I realize teams take time to figure stuff out, but no team with Westbrook, George, Melo, and competent role players like Roberson and Adams should be this bad. That’s OUR record and we have zero stars.
No team with Melo in it would be any good. PG13 might be coming home to LA a lot sooner than we think. He's playing bored. Melo obviously may have had an earful of "3rd option" from OKC FO. Sent from my E6533 using Tapatalk
