i love westbrook and think he's a great player, but it's possible he's best all by himself. i think harden's that way. some players need the whole system to center on them. also, we're only 10 games in. there's a lot crowning and panning going on, but november is seldom a good indicator of june.
This is the same reason why I've never understood the excitement about wanting Westbrook on the Lakers. He's just a ball stopper that hasn't won the big games. And for anyone saying Kobe was a ball stopper I'd say yes in some cases he was but we got 5 rings doing that kind of ball stopping.
Oh I'm just waiting to say I told you so to everyone that was on suicide watch with every "PG would never leave that SUPER TEAM" hyperbol on LB. I kept saying, lets see them play first
I find it hard to believe they markedly improve to the point of being an actual contender. Spurs, Rockets are better. I’d rather have PG + Lopez + Randle than PG + LeBron, btw. That dude is gonna stevenash us...
I also agree with the first part. Westbrook and Harden are amazing players, but they need a team or role players to be created around them. Give them the ball, let them do their thing, and play some defense. That's a recipe for (regular season) success.
It’s not going great, it’s 3 players that need their own franchise wedged together trying to change their games. That said, it’s super early and you’d have to think with that talent they’d figure it out by the end of the season like Miami did in 2011. That would still put them 4th in the West for me though behind GS, Houston, and SA if Leonard is healthy.
Melo happened to OKC, that's the problem (too much iso, no look pass I mean not looking to pass every time, etc.) and WB is still playing like he's the only player in the team or at least 99% of his playing time. PG is the only player who's trying so hard to fit in given that he's a natural facilitator and willing passer. So yeah, it's still early but right now I like where OKC's game with PG is going, nowhere. Sent from my E6533 using Tapatalk
