No doubt, but if you've got nothing to sell, doesn't matter who your salesman is.

Remember we also had Magic at some of those meetings, we had Jeanie, we had Kobe, we had Ryan West. What we didn't have was a team capable of competing at that time.

If PG does come, and Ingram develops into into a Kawhi Lite all star potential player and Ball looks a little like Kidd - we got a great base and become a legit destination!

From the talk recently, I sort of did. I thought maybe he just wanted to be the guy here to bring us back to the top and become a legend. I had the feeling one way or another he was here next year.

Without PG coming on first - we don't really have much going on for the next few years. We need him to sign here and then other dominos to fall.

Next year's notable free agents.... I think we can nab between 1-3 of these guys. My top 3 would be PG, DC, and Bron.

    Paul George
    Russell Westbrook
    DeMarcus Cousins
    LeBron James
    Dywane Wade
    Chris Paul
    Lamarcus Aldridge
    Carmelo Anthony
    DeAndre Jordan
    Brook Lopez
    Lou Williams
    Julius Randle

Some of yall worried George will only come if we come close to making tje playoffs IMO are acting like this is football. George plus another all star or even someone like Avery Bradley means playoffs IMO.

    Yeah that's true.

Let's assume that Paul George cares about winning and take his comments at face value. Why would he come here to make the playoffs and be a low ranking seed, when he could go to a 2-3 seed or stay at probably a 4th seed?

I think he wants his cake and to eat it too. He wants LA but he wants us to be a 2-4 seed at the same time. To accomplish that we probably need to show that without him we are close to the playoffs, with him we are 4-6th and with another player we are top 3 in the west. I think improving is really critical at this moment.

You're right. My first introductory presser I'm definitely going to piss off the OKC fans by saying I love the Lakers and plan to leave. Set myself up for a year of misery.

Seriously what else would PG say???

He could have said the same things Dwight said: I'm ecstatic to be here and to play with Russ, last years MVP, and to make a real crack at going deep in the playoffs.

I really appreciate OKC's belief in me, I hope to make you proud and I can't wait to get started.

When they ask about free agency, just say that like any other player you'll handle free agency in summer, at the moment you're focused on improving, meshjng with the team as soon as possible to try and win a championship this season.

Instead he says that the whole lakers or bust thing is overblown and he cares about winning. I'm just taking that at face value, I don't think there is anything wrong with that...

You know what it probably is? Easy.

He doesnt wanna mislead or lead on OKC fans... That way they cant really hate him for it. He will give it his all on the court doe but he knows where his heart is at still.

That video looks literally weird as hell. All that through a fence. I give OKC fans credit but its like petting dogs through a fence and posting it on instagram...like wtf? Cool? :KobeConfused:.... :Kobe Snickering:

Im not mad about not getting George this year at all.. For entertainment purposes itll actually be cool as a basketball fan to watch him and russ duke it out but it still wont be enough to win a ring or keep him in OKC.:Headbang:

I think what he did say is an easier way to stop those Laker questions though. You think he wants to answer the Laker question all season long? He could have just saved himself the trouble with these statements today. You can absolutely take it at face value, but I also think you can take it as him playing this incredibly smart. If he didn't blow off the whole Laker business the press would have ran with it.

Different ways to skin a cat. Like Kirk Cousins and the 49ers... George is coming here at the end of the day.

For sure.. At worst we re-up KCP and Randle now. Which would be okay but not the greatest but well see how those two look and play together this here. Didnt know it bothered you, thought we were cool with one another with a couple friendly jabs/interactions with one another. All that ish is water under the bridge for me.. Ive moved forward :)

He's keeping his options open (who wouldn't 12 months from now ?) , I always say we'll have to show progress this season to expect to sign him and others notables FA , the KCP signing is great news .

Spurs who may have 50 millions in capspace next season will be the main danger , not OKC imo
