Players want to win - They don't give a s*** where they are playing as long as they're winning and competing for rings. Paul is wired the same way...
Completely agree. No true competitor wants to go anywhere and lose no matter how many sentimental ties they have to the place.
Oh, boo-hoo. I'm sorry, but let Houston pay Chris "Can't Get Out of the 2nd Round" Paul $40 bajillion when he's 38-years old. Fine by me. Plus, what is there to be upset about? This deal only happens if CP3 forces his way to be Harden's sidekick. Wasn't happening here nor do we want that in our current stage of team building. Now, if you wanna commiserate about the Russell trade again, I'm all ears. Crying about CP3? Psh. We'd have PG right now if he had the same opt-out CP3 does. He doesn't til next year, so what are we crying about exactly?
Not trying to come down on anyone too hard. Just not a fan of the sky is falling stuff. This front office clearly has a plan, and they deserve at least through next offseason to see if they can execute it well. I'm not worried too much until then. It's a process. Sweating every PG report between now & then is a sure fire way to stress yourself out over nothing.
The source on this is the Amick article posted a page or several back. Taken out of context and added clickbait title. "Hell-bent as he is on signing with the Lakers, George - according to a person with knowledge of his situation - is also the kind of prudent professional who won’t close a window of opportunity prematurely. So if the Cavs can convince Pritchard to either take on four-time All-Star forward Kevin Love or send him to a third team in exchange for more suitable assets, then George will play his heart out alongside LeBron James and remain open to the idea of re-signing next summer if James were also to return (or, perhaps, George could leave for Los Angeles with James at his side)." Theres a difference between "remain open" and "willing".
Crying? If you say so man. Dismiss CP3 all you guys want, the point is that another true all star player has been traded for next to nothing while our position on George becomes less and less of a lock.
Didn't he just say the complete opposite last week about not wanting to sign in Cleveland? What a circus.
He's still not extending prior to the season. LeBron's going to do that? He and the wife are already pining to live full time on the west coast. Go for it Gilbert and when they don't win it this year and both of them leave in FA ... adios mother ******. So they come to Lakers in huge media story next off season together if can't win it this year? Does Kyrie get to stay and play with this new dynamic duo and he's now #3 in the pecking order? Or is that PG? (how's Kyrie feeling BTW toward the team right about now? Cavs reportedly tying to ship his a** out in the attempt to sign PG in that 1st scenario? Kevin Love gone, right?
surprising but not surprising about PG willing to commit to CLE if lebron stays i'm surprised because i don't see PG as the type who is willing to settle for being a lebron sidekick. and i'm not surprised because why would he leave a situation where he's guaranteed multiple trips to the finals cue CLE trading TT+shumpert+picks for PG any second now
Stein on ESPN710 just said a Paul George trade to Houston would be centered around Eric Gordon and a future pick... That's it? Okay.
