if boston acquires both PG and Hayward, that's game over for us they still won't beat GS but they'll top the cavs in the east for sure and i just don't see PG leaving that situation
Doesn't Lebron leaving creat path to the Finals much less difficult...also, Lebron iz 34. Not exactly getting younger...
Hayward was relatively quite against GSW, he went off against the Clipps cause they generally suck on D and didnt have a good set of guards/forward to defend him. I think Clev could relatively shut down Hayward with Shump/Jr, just matter of if James can handle PG, he went off in that clev/indy series. But after that as far as team build, Clev is still more advantageous due to their 3pt shooting from all their role players as oppose to Bos.
Cavaliers would still win. Just would be closer and even if they got past Cleveland they'd get smoked by Golden State. If they can't win the championship and probably even compete against the Warriors what's the incentive to stay? Gordon freaking Hayward is supposed to make George go from being hell bent to playing for the Lakers to re-signing with Boston seriously?
That's what I'm saying. Does Paul George forgo playing with LeBron on the Lakers so he can make Finals trips on a fairly regular basis? Or does he bail on Boston's pretend machine in order to team up with LeBron and revamp the Lakers? Tough call.
i've given up on the lakers trading for PG they're going to have to hope he's serious about coming to LA and sign him next summer. we're not acquiring him thru trade
Nope. Love Paul George, but he's not worth trading either of those two IMO especially when he's probably coming here anyway.
trading ball/ingram for PG is a huge mistake and indy isn't taking clarkson or randle. acquiring him as a FA is our only hope at this point
Ingram will be what Paul George is to the pacers, so we can wait one more year. Ingram will make a huge jump this year, watch out. The game against the Spurs when he scored easily on kawhi was when I knew he's going to be great. I would never trade bi for anyone as of now
Absolutely. The key comes down to whether or not you believe Pelinka and Magic have things going on behind the scenes with agents. I think there's ample evidence they do with Paul George. I'm not sure there's anyone else on board yet, but LeBron seems interested. Things all have to fall into place. So far, I'd argue things have fallen into place for the Lakers. I think George going to Boston would be their first major hurdle, but so much of it is out of their control that I'm just not willing to waste energy on it. If he goes, he goes. The Lakers can only prepare like they've got a shot and open the door for him.
doesn't make sense to move ingram or ball at this point. i would have considered moving the 2nd pick for george if deng was attached and indy gave us their pick on draft night. now that the pick is made it's more difficult--psychologically and pr-wise--to move it. the only hope is to wait and hope. which, again, is eerily familiar.
George stays with the C Bags, going to the finals every year for the next decade after Lebron leaves to the clippers. All whilst Dlo becomes James Harden east, attracting FA's as his sports science passing finally comes to fruition, battling the C Bags in the ECFs every year. Magic and Rob are left to sign 1 year rentals and Mozdengs for the forseeable future. The Buss family sells the team to Snoop and Dre who rebrand the Lakers as the LA Chronics.
