I just don't see how a guy who's been cursed by Pacers fans and called out by his general manager virtually blaming him for everything they're in right now would play for the same team. Just not happening. He'll be traded, guaranteed. Maybe at a lower price than what the Lakers are offering them just to stick to us and PG. Sent from my E6533 using Tapatalk
true. can the public knowledge of the rejected randle/27/28 offer be used as evidence if george wants to claim ulterior motives in a later deal that sells him for less?
Time for Jeannie to pick up the phone and talk owner to owner. She can play the role of Michael Corleone.
Not directly related to trade rumors but finally, PG breaking his deafening silence. Sent from my E6533 using Tapatalk
At this point...I actually hope we don't trade for PG13 just to stick it to Indiana. If Randle/Clarkson and our picks end up performing really well, and our team ends up being really good this year (close to making the playoffs or actually LaVar Ball our way into the playoffs), then that would make us more attractive to PG13, while also making us less likely to trade any of our players for him. That is the worst case scenario for the Pacers, but they're basically betting on us sucking which is why they haven't made a deal. Risky move by PRICKard...one that will probably get him fired.
One last thing before I put my take on this PG trade to bed at least until new legit development comes out. Since PG has been basically playing a Laker role in all these rumors, he might as well take it to the next level and all the way. He should show littlest if not no interest to whoever beats our best offer. Like "you're not getting half of my game" way. I'm sure they'll be calling PG whenever an offer goes to Pritchard so he'll have his way. Sent from my E6533 using Tapatalk
As much as some may not like it the dominance of GSW is actually helping us right now in these PG trade discussions. Teams really have to decide if they want to go all in and trade for a real possible rental in PG with the thought that it may still not be enough because of the team GSW have. If things were on a more level playing field I could definitely see certain teams jump in the fray and want to give this a real shot.
Absolutely. I think most/all teams realize there is nothing they can do to stop the warriors from repeating; that, combined with the "rental" concept of PG, has created an interesting market at the moment.
I'd agree with that. Indiana had their chance. Yeah it may have not been a great deal, really is it any worse than what Chicago got for Jimmy Butler? I don't think so and regardless they are in position to ask for more. Magic is being smart here. Of course we'd all love to have Paul George right now, but we can wait a year. Lonzo Ball will make this team extremely exciting to watch for the first time in years. He's gonna make Ingram better. Zubac better. Lopez gives us a legit center down low and a good mentor for Zubac, but unlike guys like Deng who were supposed to be that for Ingram he can actually play. Randle being in the much improved condition he is tells me he's serious about improving his game unlike the guy we just traded. Playing with Lonzo alone might help up some of their value around the league. As it stands now I don't expect us to be a playoff team, but let's see what the roster looks like after free agency. Maybe we can nab 2-3 guys on one year deals that can help this team and maybe we surprise some people and make a run at the 8th seed.
Is it possible that with Indy punting on our draft picks and Clarkson / Randle, that now we have had a really nice draft by many accounts ..... that we can still use those picks and have done their work for them? They are still nice assets for their rebuild? You want a stud who can shoot 3s, Bryant. Mature leader type young champion point guard, Hart. Stretch 4, Kuzma. Dozier. Any of our other athletic and / or moderately talented young guys we are still looking at. Nwaba, Ennis. Black? And NOW, just Clarkson. Screw them on Randle .... for the hate and irrationality. Some future picks? They have to take it right? If George gets wind of any deal elsewhere he has his agent call them up and say politely you don't want to do this. (not implying that he would be implying Paul's going to jake it). They will now be up against the hard spot because they Can Not bring him back. Fans, season and locker room .... terrible vibe. How many picks did they have and how did they do? Is their rest of the roster that they are going to be able to retain worth anything other than Turner?
