DeMarcus, Paul George, and Westbrook??? Hmm create space, just please don't trade Lonzo, Randle or Ingram and somehow get George is all I pray for now
It's worth reading to understand the Lakers' side of things. Nothing in it yet about Randle, but I'm getting the sinking feeling he's going to be gone as well.
Oh my man PG. You better be worth it. Not just because of the assets we had to throw away but more so the agitation, anxiety, irritation, disappointment and what not we had to go through. 28ppg in at least 90 games being the floor is what I would be expecting from you boy this season. Anything less is a disappointment. And wear 8 or 24. I believe the deal is still on the table? Sent from my E6533 using Tapatalk
I do think PG is worth it and I've been in favor of getting him for a while. Thing is, it was always with the caveat that we don't get fleeced. I'm hoping the process going on behind closed doors doesn't match the tweets coming out but Ding's article wasn't exactly reassuring.
In the end if we leave this summer with Paul George, Brandon Ingram, and Lonzo Ball that's still a hell of a core. I understand that. I get it. I like it. At the same time, we could have had more and it feels like we're getting close to putting our eggs all in one LeBron-shaped basket.
Randle and Dlo for George, brooks and cap space for next year? And keeping #2. Yes. Right now, I am not feeling good. Feels very Jim Buss to me right now.
It pretty much is. Ding says so. Just Magic and Rob believe they can execute the plan better than Jim and Mitch could. I feel like there is a chance they are right, but still makes me nervous.
Paul George is worth it. Top 10 player. One of the best two way players. Led Pacers to two Eastern Conference Finals appearances with his 2nd best player being Roy freaking Hibbert. Great player. I cannot wait till this deal is made official and he's a Los Angeles Laker. Will be the best player not named Kobe Bryant the Lakers have had in a decade.
He's gotta be. They have to be willing to compensate him since essentially writing exactly what the Lakers tell him to means he can no longer get a job as an legit journalist. Ding might as well be John Black.
I think that's where I'm at with it and the your last sentence is another part of this that makes me uneasy.
I'm beginning to sense you'd be my closest rival in being PG's biggest fan when he officially becomes a Laker. Sent from my E6533 using Tapatalk
If it ends up being essentially, Russell, Randle, Moz, & 28 for PG and Brook, that's something I can live with.
Yeah they clearly have the same mindset of attracting stars. To be fair, they've got one on the one apparently. To be unfair, he's not here yet and they need him here. If Paul George doesn't get here, this was a colossal mistake. I do think they've got the personality to draw people's interest, but they need the on-court production too or Paul George in their hand, but preferably both... It's definitely time to feel nervous.
Love the latest Ding article. Perfectly described the way Pelinka approached this deal. Scratching Mintz's back by sending DLo to a big market so he could try and be the man to earn himself $100mm deal Nice dig at Mitch for being a straight arrow turd!
