I thought Bev really played well the last month and with the right coach he would have been definitely useful in the playoffs. Rob correctly figured we couldn't trust Ham though so it was the right move
We will miss A LOT his leadership. People tend to take things for granted, but the grit and heart we have been showing all year, constantly coming back from games, we must be one of the worse teams in the first half and still manage to get to the 4th quarter fighting for the game. That's A LOT due to Bev. The guy is a lunatic and can be a POS at times, but you want a guy like that in your team. He plays very hard all the time, does whatever he needs to do to win and help the team. He's not talented, so he finds ways to impact the game. He has no filter, he will literally call out LeBron for not playing defense or AD for being soft. Not only in games but every single day. He always takes the toughest assignment and never backs down, even if the opponent is scoring 50 on him, he will still try his very best. He lacks a lot of skills to play basketball at a high level, but his mindset, personality, leadership and heart for the game are more valuable that whatever Lonnie or Troy will bring, for example (and I like both dudes). He is the ULTIMATE TEAMMATE and that's great to have in any team, specially one with leaders like LeBron and AD, who tend to half-a** things at times and not having a powerful voice in fighting adversity and bringing everyone together. Hopefully Ham can cover. Even little things like the Booker push when he stepped over Reaves. That is so valuable for the group, to know that guy is there for them. And then you see him trying to win and pissed off for trailing 15 at halftime and you think 'damn man, this guy is straight, if he's like this, I'm going to war with him, he deserves it, he deserves I have his back too'. Anyone who played team sports or follows behind the scenes stuff and watch interviews from players, they always mention guys like this as positive influences in the locker room. With this said, I agree with everyone that Ham needed to be saved from himself. And I don't think Pat should play as much minutes, much less with other small guards. So, there's also some good about getting rid of him. Wish him the best
yeah, i was expecting serious sour grapes. i think it's a good sign that he's (at least not publicly) bitter. you don't want to get a rep as an organization that treats players poorly. feel like that happened to houston over morey's tenure and soured things for them.
Meh … these guys don’t want to appear to be malcontents. Am sure Russ will put something “classy” out there too on social media or in an interview.
Type of game we miss him A LOT. Dame shot 29% last game against us and Bev had a +27. Not only Dame was hot but the whole team was getting clear looks because of double teams or just a bit of help from a 2nd guy and that was enough. We don't have anyone capable of handling these fast guards. Dame, Curry and Morant will kill us. We need to find a way to stop these guys. After the break we get the Warriors without Curry and then start a road trip in Dallas and Memphis. Let's see how the team copes with star guards
Yeah ... all that ... BUT ... his ugly mug is now no longer the opening photo on the Home screen gallery which has been updated. Well ... sort of updated LOL! Walker does the honors now replacing him, then Wenyan, then Schroder ..... and then come Brandon Bass, Luis Williams and Jesse Buss with Mitch Kupchack.
Bev's really played some good D before the trade: Lillard, halliburton, etc. I know they had to move him but it would have been really fun with him and Vando together. With DLo the shooting would have been enough
