Great defense on Haliburton down the stretch. Just erased him.

Not really, but if he started at the 1, Reaves/Lonnie at the 2, Schroeder came off the bench and Russ got traded, things would look better.

Actually, this dude is growing on me. I respect his tenacity on defense, especially when I have to watch Brick in the same uni not give a sh!t down there every game.

Watching Halliburton, I think that the Kings screwed up royally. Yeah, they are okay this season, but this kid is going to be really good, if not great for the next 10-12 seasons.

    I agree,

    Bev/Dennis
    Reaves/Walker/Christie
    James/Brown
    Rui/Gabriel
    Davis/Bryant

That is as balanced as the current roster can be. One of Bev/Schroder/Walker can close with Bron, Davis, Reaves, Rui depending on how they are playing in a particular game. The problem is Russ takes Dennis's off the bench role and gets 30+ minutes no matter how he plays.

I think he should stay. We have no defensive guy like in the backcourt. It's not that he is a great lockdown defender, but has so much intensity and will that it ends up really nagging the opposition stars and that's been really helpful.

He also brings a winning culture, he hates to lose and everything single minute he is going to give his best, even if that best isn't great, I value the willingness A LOT. When he missed the 2FTs, the body language says it all. That's a guy that every day wants to win. And LeBron and AD have history on giving half-a** effort every now and then. We need Pat to keep them in line, which then translates to the whole team. It's not by chance that we fight in every single game. Last year we would give up in the 2nd quarter. Bev brings that mentality and for me that's valuable

We are deep in the position, so I would also give him occasional DNPs

I thought Bev played fine outside of the missed free throws. We definitely don’t win without that 3 he hit.

I'd be reluctant to trade him now TBH unless you get a defensive stopper in return. Since Caruso left, they don't have a guy who can stop guards.
Now Bevs defense looked bad but that was before the Rui trade where he was playing out of position. Adding Rui fixes the issue the Lakers had even in the Bubble years of guarding the PF sized wings like Harris, Gay, Kawhii.

If Rui can take on those matchups which looks like he can that leaves Bevs back to his natural position: team needs to move on from Westbrook and these pieces suddenly fit well for a very good defensive team (basically I just don't trust Ham at all so the FO needs to make moves to force his hand)

+/- of +16. By far the highest on the team, all the starters were in the negatives. Clutch three and clutch steal to put us in the driver’s seat late in the game. Missed free throws were costly, but pretty much everyone was missing free throws for us.

Trading Bev just for the sake of trading him would not make sense. I think if we keep him, there is a good chance we could retain him for a very team friendly deal this summer.

Now if a good opportunity comes up to trade him for a good wing/shooter for fair draft compensation, of course we should jump all over it.

But I think more and more it’s looking like the solution to balance our roster is to try to use Russ as the trade chip.

So, the PatBev we got early this season was absolute garbage.

This version of PatBev is useful and I would have no problem keeping around. Gotta keep hitting those 3s though.

Interestingly enough, I am starting to like Bev more than Russ for this team. Like, I don't expect miracles here, but when Bev is not consistently playing out of position, he actually delivers exactly what you would expect, and we kinda need most of those things -- simply put: 3&D.

At this point, I'll take a player who can actually hit some threes and defend, well... someone.
