He has enough of a history in this league that we know that game is an outlier. If he was capable of doing it night in and night out, he'd have done it by now. If someone offers him a great contract after he expires, he should take it.

But if I know Nick like I think I do, he won't want to leave his buddy DAR. That brotherly bond is tight.

I'm not specifically talking about the scoring outburst of the last game, but his play this season. His defence is solid and he is playing at an efficiency level almost identical to JJ Reddick on offence.

If this is a result of good coaching and putting nick in the right places to succeed - Does anyone want him for a few more years?

we pinned it all on russell, but young going out at nearly the same time was a huge blow on both ends. i can't believe i'm saying that, but the team looks so much better with him in the lineup.

if he stays healthy and keeps it up, he'll certainly opt out. but the lakers have his bird rights and his cap hold should be fairly low, so they've got a good shot at keeping him AND adding talent.

3 things on our favor come FA time:
    • Nick displayed how fast his production can drop if his head isn't right last season. This will be a deterrent for teams to offer big paper. He's also 32 before FA starts. Granted there will still be some good offers if his play keeps up as it has but I don't think it will be crazy and I do believe he will take a small home town discount because of the below:
    • Luke is Nick's coach of choice. There is NO doubt of that. Luke rubbed that ego of Nick's until it shined like a sun. + Luke really did believe in the guy when no one did. Nick totally has Luke's back in interviews. The Boron experience may have put a scare of other coaches into Swaggy.
    • Nick loves LA. His kids are here. He's a native.
Pretty sure the stuff with DLO is a non-factor at this point and Swag is definitely one of DLO's favorite targets on the court. If he somehow gets a fantastic offer of course he should take it. He'll be 32 in June and his game is due to start to drop at least a little, especially his new penchant to play D. But who knows, he's never had a ton of minutes (23 career avg) and Luke plays him right around there so maybe he can have an extended career. I personally would like to see him continue to pump up his value and Mitch take advantage of that and use him in a trade so we don't have to deal with his imminent decline. Don't know though, who would take him when he has an out this summer?

DAR played the incident as good as you could have. He could have been a sour puss like Odell Beckham Jr's of the world but he laughed at himself and he probably had a heart to heart with Swaggy and they buried it. Nick Young forgiving him was the cherry on the top and you have to give him credit for that even if he was doing something stupid.

I havent heard one person talk about it all year. Its pretty much a dead issue. DAR is having an ok season with injuries and is still averaging 15 points a game. Nick is having a career year. I am happy for both.

The thing between DAR and Uncle P is definitely dead. No question, I mean if anyone needed proof just look at the reaction Nick had when he hit the game winner against OKC with the ice in the veins and made sure Russ was looking. Russ was busting up laughing.

    There fine.

Nick has been on fire lately from the 3 point line. 7 for 9 on three point shots tonight and played a little D and even took a charge. Too bad it was all wasted on a loss.

Props to Nick for doing the impossible and turning things around to play the best ball consistently maybe of his career this year? It's been fun to watch him.

    Yep he's been on fire.

He's been our best player this year. That is either impressive or frightening, depending on how you look at it.

Like I said Deng should give 90% of his salary to be shared by Nick and Lou

Best decision ever to keep him around this year.

Clarkson following it up pointing to Nick after hitting the 3 + foul, and I love Randle's laugh/smile

My wife was like, "Who's that guy behind him, cheering him?" She knows JC but not Randle. Damn. Dagger to my scrote.

Dude is on fire right now. There are times when he's our best player out there and I don't think anyone expected that during the offseason.

The crazy thing is, it's mostly been catch and shoot, DAR and Randle have been finding him in his spots. He's not asked to create a lot of his shots and even then he could do it, and occasionally draw a foul too.
