It is 100% in reference to the commercial and dude is pretty childish if he's still holding on like that. Get over yourself Nick. It's your fault you effed up, not the kid's.

It's really a shame how Young's career is winding down to all of this...most of it he brought on himself. To think during the season before, he was lauded as a positive influence and as part of a support system by some players such as Clarkson when things were so low.

I thought Russell's commercial was seen as taking a swipe at Nick. So why are people pissed at Nick for saying "Real Funny"?

How is Russ making fun of himself for the idiotic thing he did taking a swipe at Nick? I really don't get the whole snitching mentality, don't cheat on your girl and you won't have a problem.

Because his making fun of himself was a situation where Nick paid the price. As we see, he can resort to sneak videoing, but he jokes about it in the commercial and all is well. Russ just having fun.

Just as you don't understand the snitch mentality, I don't understand all the moralizing going on as shown in your statement. You know good and well that a lot of people, athletes especially, cheat on whoever they are with. Kobe did as well and, unlike Nick, he was married. Something tells me that if Nick was the talented one and Russell's PROJECTED talent wasn't so high, some views on this board wouldn't be so quick to moralize on Nick.

Yeah, I'm not even gonna front. If hypothetically, Nick was an all star and a cornerstone of our franchise, with Russell just being an average rookie, I would totally be calling for Russell's head and demanding that we traded the snitch.

Nick paid the price, for cheating and getting caught. He has millions of dollars and apparently no issues with getting women, yeah I feel real sorry for him. I'm not gonna even bother and argue this any further, I find the whole thing to be silly. It's months ago now, it's over, Russ is mocking himself to try and make light of a bad situation.

Im not moralizing in some fake fashion. I believe whole heartedly that just because it's widely accepted that athletes cheat that doesn't excuse their behavior. Between the two, Nick Young is the adulterer. Russell did something stupid and immature and he was repentant for it. Meanwhile Nick continues playing the victim. I don't feel bad for him.

This is no shot at Young. How is it a shot at Young? It's Russell admitted he made a mistake with his phone and passing on that advice.

Nick is the one that paid the price? I'm pretty sure all I've heard from the incident is how Russell is some snitch which honestly makes no sense anyway. He didn't release the video on purpose in order to intentionally call out Young. How is that a snitch? If you text me a secret and someone else sees the text that's not my fault. It's just something that happens. Holding it personally against Russell makes no sense to me at all.

The bottom line is that if you are going to analyze Nick's behavior, regardless of the actual detail, as right vs wrong, then you must use the same analysis for Russell's behavior. Doing so would show that both did wrong. So stop blaming immaturity or Russell didn't know it would go public, and talk like that because they are just excuses. Thanks for the discussion.

    I don't understand your point?

I'm not excusing Russell. When this incident went down I was extremely vocal about how this was a poor decision by Russell and emblematic and the embodiment of his immaturity. This was a horrible decision by Russell and he's paid for it. He was crucified in rookie votes, general perception of him around the league is lower than it should be, and people around the NBA assume the Lakers want to dump him because of this perception. However when it came time to own his actions he did it and didn't shy away from it. He apologized and said/did all the things he was supposed to. Nick on the other hand left the team and has used social media to take shots at Russell from afar while blaming Russell for his mistakes. One person took the mature road and the other decided to double down on childish behavior.

Edit- and this site is all about great discussion! I love the civil argument. It's refreshing, especially for the Internet.

I still think young could be a solid bench piece if he doesn't make things uncomfortable in the locker room. Like getting guys to continue to crap on russell, or constantly take digs at russell in practice or in the locker room. Its in young best interest to perform well, i dont see him getting much nba interest if we stretch waive or buy him out....and being in la he can still latch onto another celebrity dumb enough to fall for his swag lol

It also doesn't help that he sucked ever since he signed that 4 year contract with us.
