they've been bad on the road all year, but they have two home games coming up. i expected them to take game 2, but if they take 3 and 4, the pressure goes back on sac.

still, they have to win a road game to advance...

i don't think porter or bjelica helps them win this series, as neither was much of a defender. they've never really been able to replace what iguodala used to bring, imo. which makes sense--he was really good! wiggins did a decent impression in some ways last year, but iggy was someone they used off the bench to both defend big wings and to do some important draymond-ish facilitation on offense, too.

they've tried to use divicenzo a bit in the offensive role, to varying degrees of success, imo. but it's not the same.

anyway, it's still largely the same group that won it last year, so i'm not counting them out of the series. i will say that they can't afford to have a bunch of long series if they want to repeat, though. they've already guaranteed themselves one here, so that's...not good.

I think this is a bigger factor than is being talked about, and that if Brown were never on the Warriors bench, that the Kings wouldn't be up 2-0 right now.

So I think this is correct. Warriors still a lot scarier to me. Our defense can limit Sacrapmento. Harder to do so with Golden State.

Would be hilarious to see this. Not worth it, but still hilarious.

Also, Sabonis's mindset doesn't matter. He grabbed Dray's leg, Dray has a right to forcefully break his leg free, and then he has to step down. Doesn't have to stomp, I don't blame him for that t** for tat wise, other than it being stupid bc it's easily foreseeable how refs would react and mainly just see Dray's stomp.

But anyway, back to Sabonis's intent, even if it shouldn't matter:

Translation: Sabonis is also a dirty MFer

yeah, i wake up and read green was ejected and everyone saying he's dirty and all that, and then i saw the play and was like...c'mon...

yes, he deserves a t, and yes, he once again overreacted and played outside the game. but the dude did grab his leg, which can be dangerous and is also outside the game.

Yup. And play is still going on, and Sabonis is blocking Dray from moving. Basketball-wise, Dray is actually supposed to break free, step down on Sabonis (he has nowhere else to go other than straddle him, which opens you up to further injury from a player already initiating a dirty move against you) and run down the court.

But because Dray came down a little too hard, and he's Dray, he gets ejected. Smh.

    Still stupid of Dray though.

If he's a dirty MFer, I'll take four of them. He's a difference maker on the court.

Scott Foster has nothing to do with the Suns bench being horrible and CP3 shooting the ball like crap

the core has been together a long time. This was a long season for them The window is closing, and this is the last hurrah?

Can they pull together one more run together? I think no.

Think it will go 7 games: GS is jekyll/hyde between home and road.

GS obviously can start spamming Steph PnR to put Sabonis into the action as an adjustment
That being said Sacs lack of rim protection just isn't as a big deal with GS being a jumpshooting team and GS better defenders can't shoot that well (spacing issues if you have both GP and Looney out there)***

Put a gun to my head and I think Sac in 7

***Interesting this is worse than I initially thought (Looney, GP, and Green - no spacing what so ever. Only Wiggins is a plus defender who you still have to respect his gravity)

i thought the dubs would win all home games and take one of the first two on the road. i'd put it at a tossup now that they've dropped the first two. gun to my head, i probably go with the warriors experience winning out in a game 7, despite it being on the road. but who knows, maybe the kings keep surprising me.

    Yeah me too.

I think the pressure of the moment in the later stages of the series can be important for the experienced Warriors team.

If the Warriors win the next 2, I'm not sure Sacramento wins 2 out of 3 "kinda" elimination games. I think Sacramento's best (and only?) shot is to steal one of the next 2

These Grizzlies beat the Warriors by 30 in Game 5 last year when Jah was out. They’re not just going to roll over. When Jah is out they certainly become less dynamic offensively, but they’re a better defensive team without him. They become a defensive team that doesn’t beat itself.

I expect to see less Tillman and more JJJ at the 5 to try and pull AD out of the paint. If we’re not prepared, it could look something like the Minnesota play-in game.

yeah, i'm not looking forward to game 2, tbh. just feels like a letdown game. you don't want a "you're supposed to get this one" on the road with our squad.
