There hasn't been a repeat NBA Champion, since Golden State with KD. I imagine that trend will continue next season. There hasn't been a repeat Conference Champion, since Golden State/Cleveland either.

I’m of the mindset of “If it isn’t my team fighting for the Title, then I at least want something cool.” After the 3-Peat I quickly was getting bored with it constantly being San Antonio, then it was constantly LeBron, and now it’s constantly Golden State. So seeing Toronto, Milwaukee, and Denver win it….is kind of nice. I know stats show people care more if it is LeBron, Golden State, New York, Boston, or us….at least like Advertisement wise, but it’s nice to see something new. Now, in saying I’m happy….again, I want the Lakers to be winning. But as long as it’s teams going for their first or whatever, that’s cool with me now. But I will say “Frick Mike Malone” right now. Someone crapped in his cereal and he wanted to be so high and mighty this whole run. Jokic is whatever. I don’t mind him or Murray so cool. KCP became a tool too during this run, but whatever. Just, Aaron Gordon I feel like has been right on the cusp of being really good and effective and so to have him up there like the Barkelys and others of the league that were good but could never win it, I’m glad he got one. Next we need Dame to get one, unless LeBron can win it all next year. but there’s just a few people that I’m at least giving golf claps to for being good. Denver just got that this year. so good on them. Laker fan first. Generic NBA Fan second.
This makes me appreciate Lebron’s cryptic retirement suggestions even more, since it clearly did get under Malone’s skin the way it diverted attention away from the Nuggets
I don't know if I should be annoyed or not but it is just sad on his part. The media plays a huge hand in it when they asked James about his future plans, he gave them an answer and then they fanned the flames. Malone should go after THEM. Malone is really the only unlikeable thing about their Team. I'm a Laker Fan for life, but a Basketball Fan 1st. I enjoyed watching this Denver Team's run. (except for the WCF, that is)
Jokic is trolling whole NBA Denver center Nikola Jokic has admitted he lost the 2023 NBA Finals MVP trophy. ESPN host Malika Andrews said it was her first time interviewing a Finals MVP who came without a trophy in hand. “I really don’t know where he is. I left it in the premises of Sparky [Gonzalez] (inventory manager )- and then the cup disappeared somewhere. So I have no idea. I hope he somehow ends up at my house,” shared Jokic.
The Lakers have prevented Denver from winning many times over the years. They must think about us for sure, but we think very little about the teams we ran over. Lots of one-sided rivalries out there, fanbases that hate us. It’s like that tweet going around the other day about this being the most watched playoffs in years, the guy tweeted it is a nuggets fan and said with it “we don’t need the Lakers”, um, the Lakers were IN most of the playoffs. People watch when we’re in it, even if they’re hate watching to see us lose.
yeah, malone continuing to bring up the lakers is cringey as hell, but i won't blame their fans one bit for hating the lakers considering all those times they knocked them out of the playoffs
