harden actually made shots in a big scoring game. that's new. and it's why he's not the mvp. btw, agree with thk on cp. really, both he and lebron are just casually kicking a** like always. put their numbers up against harden's with the names removed and tell me how one is a leading mvp candidate and the other two are afterthoughts.
Yea, Chris Paul has been consistently great. He just put up 41 points and 17 assists with 1 turnover against the Blazers. He actually defends the likes of Curry, Westbrook, etc., instead of being hidden on defense. At the same time though, I can see why people ate him when he pulls crap like this.
Oh my God... I'd probably sit on him or something for that. Or step over him. And definitely the next time he drives to the rim, I'm going to hit him really really really really hard. I'm so f***ing sick of that bull****. That's worse than Harden and LeBron. That's worse than a fish. At least the fish had a hook in it's mouth for goodness' sake.
I cannot stand that kind of flopping. Any flopping is bad in general but I can somewhat (SOMEWHAT) stand Harden's head twitch but I cannot stand this fish act he's pulling. Absolutely disgusting. Side note, was there a call on that play?
i want the pels in. okc is decimated by injury, and i don't want westbrook getting grant hill'd trying to beat gs in the first round. also, anthony davis needs to be in the playoffs.
So, Westbrook just had 54/9/8 on 43 shot attempts. His effort came up short, and since he also got his 16th technical, he will be suspended for the next game.
Reminds me so much of that one season where Kobe had to put the team on his back to get them into the 8th seed.
Pelicans are going to play "their finals" at home against ... San Antonio who plays for the 2nd seed . OKC will get the 8th spot
A lot of people are calling out Silver for this, but personally, I'm glad that Westbrook's 16th technical was rescinded. A lot of NBA technicals are BS. The Westbrook one seemed completely unnecessary too. If anything, it's not the players that need to control their emotions. It's the refs that need to learn to control theirs and stop calling technicals for the littlest things. Here is the technical in question:
^Actually gotta disagree with you a bit THK. Refs could literally T up guys all the time for what they say and do after a call. Superstars get more benefit of the doubt than anyone. I mean how in the hell does Chris Paul not have like 82 techs? He is literally worse than Rasheed with complaining to the refs. Every time I see a T called when it doesn't look like the player did too much in that instance I immediately think it is a T based on the whole game. I'd suspect WB had been giving the refs an earful (or that ref) all game. I do think that it does get out of hand sometimes too. Overall the players have to also control themselves. Most officials give leeway to immediate outburst but not continuous yelling and cursing at them. I don't blame them in that sense. Its also good that the league is more proactive in rescinding them too although I am pretty sure if it wasn't that OKC was fighting for a playoff spot and WB is great for ratings Im sure it would of stood.
Good points. I do agree with you on that. Superstars definitely get away with giving the refs an earful so I don't entirely disagree. The refs can overreact to very minor things though, and since the league has rescinded over 40 technicals this season, I want to give Silver the benefit of the doubt. This particular technical seemed unwarranted from the video, but as you said, it's possible (and probable) that Westbrook was giving him a hard time throughout the game.
so I see westbrook had 54, then I see some dorks on espn talking about it being one of the "least efficient" 54 ever. I go to the box score, expecting a bad fg%, but instead see 21/43. can we just stop using the word "efficiency" and start saying "ft attempts"? I'm sorry that some players in the nba score by, you know, putting the frigging ball in the basket. the fact that they're vilified for it says a lot about the state of the league.
Sorry but when Harden can make 40 pts on 0/1 FG attempts, that's greatness. None of this "basketball" stuff. We're playing FT-ball.
