New York's pick being roundly panned by Knick fans...and Smith's meltdown made today's draft memorable. He's on ESPN right now just ranting. LOL! Takes away the befuddlement I have with the Russell over Okafor.

So... what exactly do the Knicks see in Porzingis? Mario Hezonja was picked right after and he already looks amazing, maybe even the next Manu Ginobili.

He's a legit 7 feet tall, a decent shooter, and he's fairly athletic. He's got a LOT OF development to go though. He's nowhere near ready.

A couple questionable picks here and there. Thought Miami had the steal of the draft with Winslow.

Also a lot of good role players in this draft.

Two years is too much for the denizens of Gotham and Stephen "Agitated" Smith.

Did he just say Stanley Roberts? I didn't know O'Neal's former LSU teammate was in this year's draft?

MJ is a d****** and the Heat got lucky. I have to find me a Knicks board now, in need for some laughs :D

Got a few friends from New York and they were just... not even angry. They were flat out depressed about it. Jerian Grant helped turn them around a bit, that's a great trade for Phil by the way. Porzingis though... man that's a swing for the fence. Either you wasted an entire year of being one of the two worst teams in the league OR you hit a home run and just got the next athletic Dirk... I'm gonna guess the latter, but I still think Porzingis has a shot to be alright in the league...

    in a few years... :D

Yeah, he seems to have the skills of a typically tall international player with good movement on the floor, but I'm concerned about his low-post game, and he doesn't really rebound (though he is good with put-backs. And shot blocking).

I just think Mario Hezonja is already a proven talent and could have gotten Knicks fans excited. Dude is fearless and has that edgy/cocky attitude that could be a crowd pleaser when used against opponents.

I don't disagree at all. Porzingis isn't the guy I think they SHOULD have gotten, but I thought all along it was the guy they were going to get. If it's me? I take Mudiay and go all the way to the bank with it. Strong kid, good pick and roll game. I know he's not a good fit for the Triangle, but he's a great prospect. If not him, then like you said Hezonja is a great prospect AND a good Triangle fit.

Wow, that C bag offer to Charlotte was CRAZY! 4 first round picks for Winslow?!?!1111 But then, add to that MJ turning down 4 firsts to select Frank the Tank. They are both nuts.

As far as the Hornets go, I don't quite know how to say this without sounding like I'm stereotyping, or being racist or something, but I'm half white so I hope that helps. Why do you take Frank the tank while at the same time being rumored to be shopping Cody Zeller? Zeller was Frank 2 seasons ago coming out. And the rumors I read were that Zeller was being shopped for a wing. Uh, hello, Winslow? I guess Zeller has been disappointing, but I don't pass on Winslow for a shot at a version of Zeller that might turn out better.

Zeller is a little different... he's more of a brute kind of guy and an athlete. Frank is more of a skilled guy and a shooter. Frank definitely makes more sense with Kemba and Al Jefferson.

But they needed a wing replacement for Lance for sure. Maybe they were sick of striking out and went for the low floor pick?

I've tried to preach this for years, but nobody wants four mid-first rounders. bos and phx finding out the hard way.
