You know, I would agree but then again I never thought in 1 million years a day would come where I was rooting for Bron regardless of the jersey he had on. So, I'll keep the door open. I hated Bron. I don't actively dislike Trez. He was an irritant on two teams I really dislike, but that's about it.
He looks like a great option to throw at modern stretch C's that a lot of teams run. These guys he can guard on the perimeter and doesn't give up too much in the post. However, in the playoffs you start running into guys like AD and Jokic who he's simply not big and enough to keep off the post or the glass. Hopefully with Gasol and AD that won't be an issue for the Lakers
We will find our next playoffs just how much the bubble, and loss of his grandmother, affected him. He looked out of shape, but there's no way that happens with our leaders/ culture. There won't be "leaders" load managing here.
Having a big who can do this to their opponent at the 3 point line and then fly to the rim is going to be a hell of a luxury. Not only does it pull a big away from the paint, but it shows he can generate for himself (and embarrass in the process).
well if by some miracle we resign him to decent deal after next season id be thrilled, im a fan of his gm, it just feels hes using this yr to get more shine for bigger deal in 21'
Trez is going to be a dog on the offensive end but defensively, he's got a lot to work on. Lakers switch often so hopefully that will help him. You don't have to draw plays for him offensively so nothing to worry about there.
Watching the videos... that's a beautiful floater. Really nice and smooth. Also, his handle is quite good for a "big". Defensively, he'll have to work with Vogel, AD and Marc. I know they will be able to figure it out.
That motor is going to be contagious. I wonder if playing without the fans is hurting his game? A lot of hustle and energy guys have such a reciprocal relationship with the crowd. They get the crowd going, but also rely on them and feed off the energy they pump the arenas with. Could've had a role in his bubble struggles. I think it was more so losing his grandmother, half their roster being in and out of the bubble, and their "leaders" being the finger pointing losers that they are. Still something to monitor.
Shame he's on the books for GS for at least 3 more seasons. Being a Klutch'er and all, he'll be about spent when that deal is up.
