the irony is that we're essentially trying to recreate the roster of two years ago when we could have basically just kept it the whole time. feel like this is what happened to dallas after the 2011 title. blew up the supporting cast and then were like...wait...that worked before...
Retooling the team was a great idea on paper... starters would play the same game while the newly added 6MOY and runner up would provide the offensive help. Unfortunately egos and ultimately injuries got in the way.
lol, was just implying in the schroder thread that his insistence on starting was perhaps a bigger issue than most thought at the time.
the problem is, we kind of have to retool often. We have three guys who are now making 120 million per year between them. We simply cannot afford to sign long term players who are unwilling to take less money to be here. When you keep people, they tend to get raises over time. We are paying out the arse to keep journeyman type players. Some may be better than that but they will have to take less money while Lebron is here. If they want their payday, they will leave on their own or we will simply let them walk and look for a replacement. The thing is, as long as Lebron is here, there will be players who want their chance at winning a ring.
I don't buy that. It's just Lebron's thing. When he returned to the Cavs he traded half the roster in the middle of the season. He's just like that, there's no continuity with him in regards to players or assets. It's all-in every season. Many players are getting the same salary in other teams
not sure i understand? you're upset because our former players have played well elsewhere, so you feel the need to pounce on a bad game? ok. the guy we traded them all for ranks in the negatives on advanced stats so far. meaning we could have just stuffed them all in a basement and been better off! does that help? my statement was that everyone was blaming the supporting cast for us not winning the title last year, and that wasn't the reason.
Just keeping balance with the thread, considering you mention all the games they do well and forget to do the same when they don't, while constantly pushing the narrative that they were all better than Russ.
not sure where i'm doing that. first time that happened was the post above in response to your nonsense (in the harrell thread, about kuzma). our former players are doing well all over the league. maybe all the complaining about them when they were here was a bit overboard?
So what? We are doing what we have to do. I also do not think that Lebron is calling ALL the player contract shots here. He has input but I am pretty sure that the Buss family is telling Pelinka how much they are willing to spend and that drives his decisions. I am more than sure he goes to Lebron and Davis to discuss the moves and why he wants to make them. Everyone has a say.
He going back to his pre-Laker norm plus more/better defense. We failed to use him correctly last season.
it was my biggest complaint most of last season. i still partly blame schroder for insisting on starting, which ruined my hope recreating what the clips did with lou/trez. the blueprint was right there!!
Yep, that dumb f***ing entitled C bag cost us the best two man punch off the bench in the entire league. Really wish we could've figured it out with Trezz despite that, but I think that changed their entire vision for the two of them. He's the best player on the Wiz some nights and they have Beal... that's wild.
