Going to miss his energy. He was my 3rd favorite Laker this year. But it was pretty clear that he wasn't going to be back. And Russ can replace his energy 10 fold.
Sucks to see the Trez experiment fail, it looked so promising when he signed but locker room politics got in the way.
He and Schroder were not given more time together. Defensively he is who he is and it ultimately cost him time and spot on the team. Good on him for swallowing his pride and opting in for the $9 mil player option.
yeah, there was clearly an order given by the FO to play drummond over harrell vogel really never figured out how to utilize him
All the best to Harell as he gave it as all but this take was the correct one from the very beginning. Worries me about the Westbrook signing as Harell is another pickup where fit really doesn't seem to be prioritized
Not him directly but a lot happened that affected his productivity. Schroeder wanting to start when he and Trez would have been a great duo off the bench. Drummond getting the starting role and promised mins right off the buy out market pushing Trez down the totem pole.
He's his own worst enemy. When more then one person says the same thing about you, it's probably time to look in the mirror just sayin..He's undersized and a liability on defense for the 4/5 which is why he was sitting pine in the playoffs
Ya I do think Trez can be a difficult guy to deal with ego-wise. Would I call him a cancer? I don't know but he was obviously the problem in the locker room for the Clippers who were happy to get rid of him.
trez seemed to say and do the right things here. i liked having him. he's not as good as people thought when he was with the clippers nor as bad as people think now. i know the clippers supposedly won here, but i think taking him away from them--which forced them to have to use their full MLE on old ibaka--really hurt them.
Regular season, he's not necessarily wrong. DS should have been running the league's best two man game with him off the bench. And while he wasn't utilized to his maximum abilities, he was arguably the most consistent player throughout the season (excluding Bron and AD from consideration).
Trez game is fun to watch. Problem is, his game doesn't translate well in the modern game, when it's against elite teams, with elite game plans, in big spots during the year and playoffs. It's no ones fault sometimes. Just is what it is.
he looks like the 19-20 version of himself again what a shame that vogel never figured out how to properly use him. i'll be rooting for trez
I was a big fan of Trez, until he became a Laker. He's a likeable guy and has tons of offensive talent, but he's just such a huge liability on defence that - even though I still really like him and wish him a nice, long career, I'm glad he's gone to be honest.
It would be worse with him for sure, specially considering we have the best DRtg with our two new centers Had a -23 against the Nets before this one, worst of the team by far. I like him and with a smart coach you may be able to use his energy from the bench. But it's not easy and I don't mind him leaving
just saying that so far, all the players that left are doing fine, and we're not. i really don't think our supporting cast was the issue last year--it was star health.
