I agree with almost all of this except that I still maintain that we lost because AD was injured. Take way one of Shaq/Kobe, or one of Jordan/Pippen, Curry/Klay, Bron/Wade/Bosh, etc., no way they would have won anything.
Yeah. We were up in Game 4 on the verge of taking a 3-1 lead when AD went down. If AD and Lebron are at even 95%, we win the series. Not sure we would have won the championship with our lack of chemistry, but we would have gotten past the Suns had we not lost AD.
With Harden having issues that aren't likely to go away, Lakers would have had a good chance to win it all again.
Probably would have beaten them just with a healthy LeBron as well. AD being injured wouldn't be a huge deal if Bron was fully healthy. AD would've had enough time to recover by the 2nd round. But with a compromised LeBron, no one else on the roster stepped up. Mainly, Kuz+Schroder.
what message? i'm sure it's something like "thanks for not giving me a chance in the playoffs. enjoy trying to replace my production with the vet min after you stupidly use your MLE on drummond."
yep. he's gone. probably going to give us headaches 2-4 times a year, too. i won't blame him, either. just benching him without evidence that he couldn't impact the game after playing a significant role all year is a bad look.
yeah, we tore down a lot of the good will rob and company had built with the drummond signing. i'll be very curious to hear rob and company discuss this years from now. they can't speak candidly about it right now, though, so we can't know how much they regret it. it didn't just hurt/disrupt the on-court product, but i really think vet FAs are going to be hesitant to join us next year (for good reason). and we...kinda need them given our salary structure.
maybe, probably. still think he's worth his 10 million to help a team win extra games and rest players in the regular season. if he walks for nothing, we'll definitely miss him. and drummond will not replace what he brought, imo.
He responded to the above comment with those two emojis. Really don't expect him back and that's unfortunate. He was my third favorite Laker this past year and one of our most consistent guys in the regular season. There's matchup issues in the playoffs, but as long as we have AD, we are going to have regular season bigs to eat up the center minutes. We're going to miss that energy and pop off the bench, cause if he leaves we don't have anyone bringing that.
I like Vogel, but the way he managed Trezz’s minutes in the playoffs was insane. Trezz played extremely well in game 1. It’s not his fault that AD slept walked through that game causing us to lose.
Full NSFW response Spoiler: NSFW Yeah...I really don't see him returning. It's getting clearer with each IG post and response
Matchups aren’t real?… Says a lot about his lack of BBIQ. His hustle and scoring ability are awesome, but he lacks in a lot of other important areas.
