@Pioneer10 I really don't get why we didn't force feed him when DJ wasn't in. Given our available players, he should have been our #2 option in the game. He shoots f***ing 65% and is automatic when he's in the dunkers spot.

Vogel is an awesome coach but when it comes to Trez, it's like he's brain dead.

26 points and 9 boards, but in only 23 minutes in an OT game where he didn’t play in crunch time at all? When we’re already short handed?

Makes no sense, and I hope that privately Vogel takes accountability for that and does right by Trez. He’d be justified in being pretty frustrated at that.

It’s been mentioned in some of the other threads, and it’s a point I agree with; I’m not sure if our interior defense is our biggest weakness right now. A bigger problem is our lack of offense.

Beal was scoring by getting to his spots in the mid-range against KCP. It’s not like Gasol was stopping that, or Harrell would have somehow made it worse. Meanwhile on most possessions for us in crunch time, it was passing around the perimeter until it got to Lebron to hold the ball and then hope someone gets open in the final few seconds of the shot clock. We needed another scoring threat out there to keep the Wizards honest on defense. Trez provides that with his roll threat and motor that’s always headed to the rim.

With AD and Schroeder out, Vogel needs to utilize Montrezl more. He’s one of the few guys who can make up for the scoring output we’re missing.

Not sure of Vogel's reasoning with this one . Trez could've finished with a career high. Can't claim foul trouble because Marc ended up fouling out.

Not unless he was trying to force the others to get involved, but that failed. The pass the ball around only to give it back to a gassed Bron with 6 seconds left is a terrible offense to ONLY run.

    me neither!

still a proponent of the "if we make shots at league average we'd be on a long winning streak" theory, but the offense itself has bogged down, perhaps independent of the coldness (though certainly mostly related).

it's clear vogel prioritizes defense and that harrell isn't where he wants him to be (sometimes literally) on that end. can't argue with results overall--defense is still probably where i'd like to hang my hat--but when AD is out, we might have to try to outscore some folks.

Yeah ... Lakers are still 1st in defense ... 18th in offense ( has to be way worse during the latest 2 weeks ) , the problem isn't interior defense.

Harrell is a competent defender when we play agressive style of D as we did against the Blazers .

He's shooting 63.5% from the field , get him more shots !

Any time Trez & Dennis score ~40 points, we can win the game, even without AD.

If Dennis can be a consistent 20/5/5 player, we win the chip easy.

I don’t think his scoring will be that high when AD comes back. But for now we really need him to score to compete. If AD comes back at full strength we won’t need as much from Dennis.

One play stood out for me last night... Tucker bounced a low line pass to Harrell in traffic. In the midst of three Blazer defenders around him, he dug it out and scored. Effort. Can't put a price on that.

Yeah, he has really good hands. Can catch most passes and do something with the ball, even when he is surrounded by 2-3 opposing players. Quite impressive actually, considering he's only 6-7 or so.

I still don't trust him defensively. He offers a lot of energy but everyone plays with energy in the playoffs. He needs to play smarter defensively with the Pick and Roll and post defense.

Having said that Schroder/Harrell can be a deadly combination for us on offense. They get easy buckets for each other and get the defense scrambling, I would like to see more mins for these two together hope we get more points than what we may give up

    He's the anti-Kwame.

He has elite top tier WR1 catching ability and has strong mitts to get it even even defenders are sticking their hands in the fray.

Had a nice sequence from Bron's full court pass, as well.

He's not an anchor, but I'm pretty satisfied with his team D. He has the quickness that allows him to rotate or recover easily. He's our second best chase down blocker and is the best big in the league at drawing charges. But if the rest of the team is lazy and not playing D or helping him out, he's going to look bad on that end and get exposed in certain matchups.

He had one really impressive post D sequence where he covered 3 guys in a matter of seconds and drew the charge... helped on one Blazer, cut off the lane from another, then stepped up and drew the charge on Dame (I think).

Going to keep beating the drum of him being capable of being a very good defender with us. Lack of training camp and practice is hurting the progress I think he'd be making under normal circumstances with our squad.
