some of it could be unfamiliarity with schemes. but some may be unfixable, julius randle style.

again, some folks are bench players for a reason.

If obvious to us think what it does to a defensive savant like Vogel’s innards.

    :Vogelheaving:

He’ll work out the right rotations once he’s done his necessary experimenting with all the combinations that’s still ongoing.

Frank deserves some nicer gifs methinks as reward for the outstanding job he did last season and winning the title out of the gate. In sirron’s “spare time”.

vogel seems like a genuinely positive guy. feel like svg or someone might try to strangle harrell by game 8.

Vogel does not get rattled... Stan Van Gundy was nicknamed by O'Neal as Master of Panic for a reason.

Kept hustling and was 1 board shy of a double double, but DAMN he probably had one of the roughest 15 seconds of his NBA career.

Then later on Poeltl (think it was him) bounced the ball of his back.

Trezz's bread-and-butter is him hustling and bullying other players. When he doesn't do that, you're not going to get anything else from the guy. He's gotta be smarter defensively. Offensively, he's doing fine. I just think he has to find a way to get more involved defensively even though he is undersized. Seems like he's horrible at communicating defensively and just gets caught in a bad defensive play.

Exactly. He's athletic, he has the physical tools to be a solid defender. But his defensive IQ is severely lacking. When he's being targeted by offenses, he just doesn't know where to position himself and often gets caught in no man's land leading to easy buckets. It will be a challenge for Vogel to try to teach him some defensive fundamentals and/or scheme the team defense to hide his weaknesses.

Offensively though, he is very fun to watch.

He's going to get more defensively aware under Vogel, but I don't think he'll ever be a great defender. Not trying to be too critical, just an observation.

If PJ Tucker can defend and box out and rebound so well, why can’t Harrell who has more athleticism and length and leaping ability? He needs to watch film and be coached better.

My least favorite Laker: acts like every dunk he makes is like a Vince Carter highlight and then is just absolutely awful on defense.
Can't rim protect, goes under on screen when he should go over, just gives up on transition D: uggh.

On top of that, he's about the worst fit for Lebron as a 4 (can't space the floor at all and is best an 1v1 or roll lman)

i mean, there's a reason he was available, y'all. try to focus on the fact that he's a bench player making MLE. you'll feel better.

Fortunately Vogel is our coach . Harrell can't be on the floor in the playoffs.

Is he going to mope if he's not getting 4th quarter minutes? I could live with him if he's not in there during critical times but in 2 out of 3 last 4th quarters, he's been the guy either targeted or responsible for a ton of opponent points.

trez only tries when he gets chance to block a shot but on PnR or switch situation hes actually worse than Randle, actually Randle last yrs here put up better effort, hed body up guards n keep em in front of him, Trez pretty much just retreats into the paint like a moron
