Stupidest trade I can remember the Lakers making, and I wasn’t even really a fan of Zubac. Absolutely pointless trade, Beasley could have been waived, Muscala probably would have been waived by the Clippers if we wanted him, but we gift them a young backup C that still has upside. If anything I’m glad for Zu I guess, the Clippers probably won’t screw with his development like we did. Again, I can find absolutely zero to justify this trade, hell even the D-Lo trade you can say we at least got Lopez and could have kept him but were too stupid.
I have completely zero confidence in this FO after this trade. It was so nonsensical and can only be explained with how low IQ Magic is.
Last two games he averaged 16 PTS, 6.5 REB, shooting 60%(almost 62% from 3). I understood the gamble in the trade. IMO if the team was healthy&had chemistry, I could see his worth on the court the way he finished the season. 10x more agile than fricken SloBro. People are failing to mention Lopez was nothing special with us&is benefiting big time playing with an MVP candidate like Giannis, a great system(+ scheme fit)&surrounding cast.
Every player will hit a few here and there. I always ask myself can I rely on this guy for an entire season to do X or Y... Muscala certainly can shoot 3s. The problem is he is not great at it but has a million other holes in his game. If he was a dead-eye specialist I could see him as being useful. But out of 82 games, I can see him being absolutely useless in 55-60 of them. That to me is the reason why we aren't embracing this guy...and also the fact that we giftwrapped Zubac and replaced something with nothing.
Lopez didn’t have Lebron here in his year in LA. He would have benefitted big time with that as well. At the price tag Lopez is at now, there’s no comparing him and Muscala.
Isn't it funny how the guy comes here and suddenly forgets how to shoot. I'm telling you - has a lot to do with our offense more than anything else. Everyone's percentages seem to drop when they come play here.
