Sign Pau up!! Chemistry off the charts this year .... better than last year. Plus we'd have the "brothers act" where the Clippers tried and failed yet again.

Pau is no longer beating around the bush. He wants to play in the NBA again, and he wants to play for the Lakers alongside Marc.

I know it’s petty and insignificant in the grand scheme of things, but I hate how Gasol looks in the #14 jersey. Petty rant over.

How about that passing, wow. If his minutes are managed so he’s starting, goes out after maybe 6-8 minutes and then starts the 2nd quarter he can be the guy that runs the offense for the 2nd unit. We did not have a guy last season when LeBron and AD sat, until playoff Rondo appeared, that could keep the scoring going at an easy pace, it was always a struggle. Marc opens up the offense so much more, it’s night and day vs starting McGee last year.

This guy straight up orchestrates the offense. His passes, his instincts, his awareness are so off the charts and it's just fun to watch him play in the half court where he is brilliant. It's going to be incredible to see him set up plays with Lebron and AD. Tonight was a fantastic preview of what's to come this season.

The nice thing about the Lakers if they've already got a roster full of guys used to cutting since they've played with Lebron.
Kuzma, KCP, Caruso were obviously going to fit well with him but the unexpected thing is we may see guys like THT and even Lebron thrive as well.

He's a lot Jokic on offense even though he's not as gifted of a shooter as him

Yes I agree although I’d probably reverse that and say Joker is a lot like Marc Gasol on offense!

he's still so good. still can't believe we got him. i was hoping we'd have a chance before the offseason, but i figured it was highly unlikely. think about how much more fun to watch the team will be when he's on the floor.

It's like Gasol has been playing with this team for years. His high IQ and next-level passing will never go away even though he is far from his physical prime. AD will be a huge benefactor of having Marc on the squad.

So much Pau flashbacks of him holding the ball above his head at the top of the key directing traffic. He's gonna make Lebron, Caruso, Kuz, KCP's lives easier.

I wonder. Was Bron better for playing with Kevin Love, who is, supposedly, an OK passer as well. We might have the blueprint there.

Love is a terrific outlet passer one of the best ever along with James. In the 1/2 court he's good but he doesn't have the height of Gasol or Jokic to make certain kinds of passes.

The thing with Lebron he's so good at so many things that sometimes it's hard to kind of use some of his skills: Gasol and him should be a great combo. Dribble hand of screens would be a load for teams to handle

Marc Gasol looked like Marc Gasol. I don’t know why this was surprising to me. I think I got caught up in all the talk about his age and lowered my expectations thinking he’d be a dinosaur out there. But so far (and of course, it’s just one pre-season game) he seems perfectly capable of doing exactly what we need from him. 20-25 minutes of interior presence and ability to finish easy buckets around the rim, but more importantly someone who defenses will have to pay attention to due to his ability to stretch the floor and orchestrate the offense.

Felt one of the biggest strengths of our offense last year was the chemistry and off-ball movement. In particular I’m thinking of all the easy buckets Lebron would find teammates for when they’d simply recognize the vacuum created by defenses sinking on Lebron, so they cut for an easy look and Lebron finds them. Throw Marc into the mix, and opposing teams will be caught sleeping often.

the offseason additions are clearly geared towards us not having to grind so hard on offense this year, which is great. schroder/harrell plus gasol just creates a lot of options that weren't possible with howard/mcgee/avery bradley.

We got and old-man Jokic. Kuz, KCP, Caruso, THT, and probably Kieff are good cutters, allowing Gasol to pick a part the defense. Hopefully he'll be able to stay healthy throughout the season.

Marc definitely has still got his skills if not quite as spry as he once was. Maybe Lebron will teach him some training and eating habits to preserve himself for the playoffs.

As for Pau though, as nice as a story that would be to see the 2 bros in Purp and Gold, @ 40 years-old and just recovered from a foot injury, maybe we should see who else becomes available off waiver wires.

Yeah. I am also thinking about picking up another big at some point. Can't hurt. Doesn't have to be a really special player or anything. Just play some solid role-player minutes and be reliable, right?
