yes, but i'm sure he has a player option or could simply ask for a buyout. it was just a 2-year deal so that he could have some insurance in case of injury.

I don’t recall a player option. I don’t think we need to sweat it unless he asks for a buyout which I don’t see happening at his age. At any rate I don’t think we need to “bring him back” as he is under contract.

Yeah. He should be back absent a trade. I think as long as we define his role and the center rotation better it will be okay.

sorry, i should clarify: the player option is basically unofficial, imo. as in: i think when he signed, they gave him two years guaranteed with a wink that they'd buy him out if he wanted to retire or leave. so, i should have just said "request buyout".

Yeah, again I think he will return for his final season and not ask for a buyout. I guess you never know but I would hope so.

It was failed on our part, the team, they failed him by benching him for Drummond.

    got it.

yeah, it was dumb. hopefully he comes back. and i will join his haters in saying that i hope if he comes back, he drops about 20lbs. there's being big and there's being sort of inexcusably big. then again, he stayed healthy all year, so maybe his body can just do that.

It's ironic because Game 6 was the only game in the series he should have not started imo ...

well, him and AD. honestly, starting both was waving the white flag and saying sorry to gasol for making poor decisions.

i know everyone's already buried him, but imagine marc and lebron out at the top of the key and wing with westbrook making dive cuts from various angles.

Or imagine running the Horns set with Lebron and AD at the elbows, Russ as the ballhandler, and Marc in the corner to help pull the other teams center out for spacing.

right; lots of articles about "who's going to shoot threes?!" when i think we can space the floor pretty well if marc comes back and starts at center. and we might just get a bunch of dunks.

Boom! I’m really hoping we utilize Marc correctly this season. I still think he should be a starter and let’s get an athletic shot blocking pick and roll type center at backup.

or even just gorgui dieng--the guy we should have signed instead of drummond on the waiver wire.
