Facing his basketball mortality isn’t easy.

also shades of “so this is how you made my brother feel”

he’ll probably be fine in a couple days, but better to not say something until you process your feelings and are in a good place

    solid team player

I must be watching a different player than you guys. Comes in cold in 4th quarter and literally makes like 6 important plays. Seriously unwarranted hate the guy gets.

He’ll play almost as much, but just not start. I don’t see that big of a deal actually. He’s still solid, but only averaging what? 15 min?

yeah, this has been totally weird since day one. he's been basically exactly what we wanted. had we not lost our two stars to injuries, we might be in 1st place and the heavy favorite to come out of the west, with gasol starting and averaging 15-20 mpg, 4pts, and 3reb and just doing all the little things that hold teams together on both ends. seems like 70% of fans think those things don't exist.

that said, he needs to be a good soldier. i'm wondering if he was made some promises and those promises were broken, which would be bad. the redick situation might actually doom NO, tbh. you can't have agents and players saying that your organization can't be trusted. svg's response to that was bad, too. it's why he wasn't in the league for a while and why he's headed back out the door soon, imo. he's a good coach, but he can't keep his mouth shut or his emotions in check.

I'm not even sure that he really has a reason to be unhappy. Look: he got paid, he gets to play on a great team with other high IQ players, the teammates and the coaching staff are great, and since he is old and overweight - reduced minutes can only benefit him. No team out there is going to start him and give him a bigger role anyway. Drummond is simply better, younger, much more mobile, better scorer, better rebounder... everyone knows it, it's not a shame to admit that.

When Marc was Drummond's age he was a 15/9/3 player, with 2 blocks and a steal per game, playing elite defense. I mean, that's an amazing starting center. But age will do that to you, he's not Bron and that's alright. We needed an upgrade.

we'd be in trouble short term, as we'd be back to one center, and in trouble long term, as we'd have damaged a relationship with a player and agent.

i have some questions about how this all went down, tbh.

isnt it more harmful if he wants out and we dont give it to him? seems like dmg already done....I didnt say buy him out just for hell of it, but if hes unhappy and wants out why waste time trying to salvage relationship with someone near retirement

Why not wait a couple of days and see what’s up? He needs some time to think about this too.

Wasn’t enough to dismiss his game almost entirely .... wrongly IMO .... but now in a hurry to get rid of him too disguised as “let him get bought out then”. So cavalier about it. Like there goes our BIG Man depth again and who do you have to replace what he gave us? If anyone says next to nothing he’s washed, that’s just a really bad take IMO.

Dwight n Mcgee didnt make a fuss or a peep when they got benched in the Hou series, we dont need this unnecessary drama from a role player

Who you got to replace him that gives everything good he gives? Seriously? Screw a little drama, Frank has been pretty good so far in this area. He’s a f****** BIG role player with skills and smarts.

No!! I’m saying you way undervalue him and coming off the bench still has great value. You can’t replace him cavalierly. Who you got his size , smart, still a playmaking good defender (just not much rim protection) .... who’s one of the 2 best passing big men in the game currently, who can shoot 3s? Who?

i dont value him at all to be honest, hes unhappy bout coming off the bench, im just saying hes not important enough to cater to. His passing is good but it's hardly ever utilized anyways when he plays with Lebron, so if he says we doing him wrong with Drummond situation what we suppose to do?
