I like the JR Smith comparisons. However, when I was watching the highlight reel I actually thought he’s more like a Jordan Clarkson because he’s capable of driving and finishing at the rim.
this was my point. the implication seemed to be that clarkson was a better finisher. no. jr smith was incredible athlete and a great shooter. he was just incredibly dumb. monk may be the same in all respects--though honestly, he's not as strong as jr smith, so he's kind of the poor man's version, tbh.
He's a smaller, shorter JR Smith, with slightly higher "BBQ" and similar propensity for... uhhh... "substances".
Monks a better passer and creator then JR. His game is more well rounded and he's definitely smarter lol
their career A/TO rate is basically identical. i'm telling you, they look eerily similar on paper and actually, on the court.
I think there's similarities but hell you can say that about a lot of guys but they are very comparable statistically. JR is a straight d****** though and always has been. Before I label Monk in a similar fashion Ill wait to see how this year plays out. Big advantage that Monk is gonna have over most guys in the league is being able to play with Bron and Russ this early in his career. Work ethic, situational basketball just everything all around. Lot of guys are never afforded that opportunity
Monk excited at how Bron, Russ and AD are gonna open things up for him. Also sees the huge learning opportunity for him as well. https://www.silverscreenandroll.com...anthony-davis-will-open-everything-up-for-him
