Yeah, but I put both trades together though. So really it was a brand new trade that I came up with all on my own.

Came to my mind... Bulls/CHI getting 2020 all-star game. Dengs contract comes off the books in 2 years. They get Randle,JC,future 1st. They could make a lil somen happen maybe. Think of it as Bulls 2020 plan lol.

yeah, deng's got a lot of nerve to talk about how hard he's worked only to be mothballed.

i actually do think he played ok in the preseason, though. better than brewer.

difference is that brewer, although tragically untalented in all regards, is a real pro. works hard, great attitude, tries his best all the time. you know, the guy deng claims he is, but most certainly isn't.

agreed. Brewer is just beyond terrible right now. I literally have zero confidence in him offense and just expecting an out of control turnover or the inability to catch/finish a pass.

I don't bash our own players often, but his game has been asinine

what if we trick him into breaking some type of morals clause?

can we cancel his contract then?

Mirotic is a shooter, not great but better than most of our team.

wait, so did deng just sit in the corner eating while everyone tried to find a way out? did luke make him face the wall? did deng pull a switchblade and make everyone empty their pockets? how far does this metaphor go?

I imagine the last room with Luke and Deng being something like this.

This is honestly pretty genius... if you give Deng a three year extension this summer (so assuming he doesn't get moved at the deadline attached to valuable assets), you can give him a 3 year extension with minimal guarantees (negotiated by Deng and his agency).

Starting next summer Deng would have 2/36.81 million on the books. If you give him an extension of 3/70 million or something, but the guaranteed salary is extremely minimal let's say an extra 3-4 million dollars. Therefore Deng gets a total of roughly 40 million spread out over 11 years after he's waived. That means his cap hit is only around 3.5 million.

So let's say we don't make any other changes with Julius or Clarkson, our cap next season would be around 49 million. That means we'd have 53 million and that would be enough to sign only one major player and have enough money left over to re-sign a bunch of players probably.

Of course if you're able to unload Clarkson for nothing or you waive your rights to Julius, you'd have exactly enough to add a 9+ veteran and a 8 or under veteran.
