Depending on where we go with Black, you can also add him in with the Randle/Nance rotation.

That's one of the plays that has me believing in Julius along with his entire body of work. Takes a lot of stones to make that kind of move and hit a game winner on such a great defender.

Woke up to is news. So stoked! Mitch is doing what he said we needed to do this offseason. Center, high character vets for our core? We have them. Props to Mitch and FO. I have so much faith in this man.

Wow, I love this move. The contract itself seems a little much, but at this point right now, beggars can't be choosers and the FO needed to lock down a wing desperately. With Bazemore, DD, Batum off the table and at very high prices we had to do what we had to do. And we got a GREAT fit. Deng is a great veteran that should really help us, especially for the first two years or so of Ingram's NBA tenure. He'll be a terrific mentor and as others have said, he'll play D, board and knock down the open threes. Huge pickup for us. I think Deng will also get us more wins this year - something we also desperately need in order to be more attractive next year for FA.

    So is everyone's unfortunately.

Turner got 17 million. Bazemore basically got the same. Mozgov obviously got 16. Mike Conley is making 30 million dollars. It's insane, but Luol provides us defense, toughness, shooting, and leadership it's a must have.

Deng was hurt in the 2nd round right?

I remember him being awesome in the Hornets series then bricking every shot in the Raps series.

No rim protection from Whiteside. Overrated.

From Mozgov, obviously. I don't care what anyone on this board posts about him being a good teammate, etc. He's not a very good player, period. And I understand the money was going to shock, but 10 million a season would have been shocking enough for a player of Mozgov's caliber.

Deng is a solid signing. I think we're done with anyone of significance now. I think the Lakers want to keep at least one max slot open next summer.

So you don't care about any evidence to the contrary about Mozgov you've just made your mind up? Seems like a very closed ofd way of thinking Savory. There has been absolutely zero evidence that we could get a comparable player for cheaper; as in a player for that much money who wanted to sign here.

Also a 10 million dollar deal is worth roughly 7 million last season. Mozgov is simply worth more than that. Both on the court and literally according to the market.

"Deng also liked the Lakers consistently stayed in touch after reaching out shortly after free agency began on Thursday at 9:01 p.m. PT."

This stands out to me. Same circumstances with Lou last offseason.
