Should all be a lot more clear come the trade deadline next year. Can't wait for the season. My gut says ....

Josh Hart (or free agent 2 or Clarkson or even Nwaba at times) starting plus Brook Lopez is >>>> DAR plus either Zu or Moz starting.

Lopez baby .... changes everything. Zu's big leap with Randle and Nance and Bryant to throw at the 5 position as well? We are big, bad and talented at the 5 on offense at least and should be better on D consistently with the starting 5 with Magic here now with the guillotine everyone's seen used a couple times already.

I know. The way he badmouths his grandkid is just weird. Not good look for a time honored position in family hierarchy. Reminds me of Billy Bob and the Bad Santa movies.

The main reason I'm on board moving Randle is because I think we're getting two max players next season and we need the cash. I'd also value Brook more than Randle because of Brook's unique game for a guy his size. If we shed Randle, Clarkson, and Deng we have enough room for 2 max deals and a 12ish million dollar guy.

Just so we can check him out up to the trade deadline. May blow up this year and then give us home town discount. I can dream right?

Sure. I'm in no rush to trade him at all. The two-max scenario doesn't open up until next summer anyway.

Jules is a hard decision for the FO.

#1 priority for them in my mind leading into next summer is who fits in best with the Ball offense at every position, that includes passing and shooting, pick and roll effectiveness etc. #2 is defense and that usually comes a lot cheaper. Everything else that falls outside of that has to be bargain prices. Rooks, vet mins, exceptions.

Jules is a rebounder and iso guy, question is can he be a great pick and roll guy and develop his shot finally. Otherwise he doesn't fit with us certainly not at the rates he'll ask for next summer. Rebounding is great but it can come cheap from the likes of Zu, Nance and Robinson.

2 superstars = 60 mil we have to be under the cap to sign them leaving us 39 mil. 39 mil for 10-13 players. 15 mil for Randle suddenly looks like a lot.

And if Lopez work out and will take the same type of money on a 3-4 year deal? I think PG + whatever superstar would rather a veteran big with big skills + range than an under-sized 4. I would miss Randle's boards but you got to do a lot more than board for big money.

I'm not too worried about the fact that it's a contract year for Jules, he always gives effort. If he really breaks out this year and will take reasonable (good but far from max) money then I think he's probably worth the risk.

So you think Jules is worth 30mil? Jules is no stretch. He made 24 shots from 10-15ft last season, big deal. Less than 1 shot every 3 games from that range really doesn't make a stretch even though his % was good. But forget about beyond that range where he shot 29%. Not a stretch. And the Nuggs overpaid anyways. Our days of stupid contracts has to end. I like the kid, don't get me wrong be he'd really have to really really blow up for me to think of a 17 mil per contract.

no I'm saying if thats what you want out of your vet PF thats what its going to cost and no Nuggs didn't overpay because there were other teams also chasing milsap, thats the going rate for what you just posted, a vet with reb/def and stretch abilities
