really interesting. torn on emotional response.

-i think zinger is a star in the making and has the right mental makeup to be a cornerstone player.
-i think phil jackson has lost many of his marbles.
-but i do like what ball has brought so far in many ways.

will be worthy of discussion down the road, i'm guessing.

The thing is Lonzo per all indications will contribute more to the team by making the game better and more easy for all the guys he plays with. Like Magic did. James Worthy ....Hall of Fame, if Zinger ever gets there, but you could not have said the same thing about James. Very rare kind of player this Lonzo Ball kid.

I'm so disappointed in Lonzo right now. Lebron over Kobe? Why did we draft him?

    Ship his butt out.

(still his biggest fan, but uggghhhhh).

well, we don't need too many players that just want to make the right play. We need a closer too, and it's not Lebron. Hopefully PG is a given if LLLLLebron decides to come. I still root against that though.

His favorite player growing up was LeBron so at least he's being honest about his fav and not catering to the fans. Even though I wish he said Kobe I rather have a honest man on our team than a a** kisser catering to everyone. What matters to me is he grew up a Lakers fan and a LeBron fan so he loves team over individual first. Plus this will help with the LeBron recruitment next year (as much as I rather have DC or Westbrook with PG) , LeBron is still in his prime.

Lol, he's 19, he wasn't even born when Kobe came into the league. For most of his teen years LeBron did appear better than Kobe, as Kobe won his last title in 2010 and then suffered nagging injury after injury in the playoffs until his achilles gave. I'd imagine little Lonzo saw a lot of LeBron as he came into the league when he was I'm guessing 5 going on 6, and he was the one hyped by the media from then on. Plus, they both are natural passers, so there's that. Lonzo gets a pass from me for this one.

Didn't Kobe say that his favorite player growing up was Dr. J? Not Magic but. a rival. I don't see the any difference from that here.

Passers like Ball tend to like players similar to them in mindset... No big deal.

Probably a sell job to lobby for James to come on board.

It's also a gameplay type thing. Lonzo says his favorite player is LeBron and he worships Magic. They're both big dudes who can pass the ball which is what Lonzo wants to do. Lonzo isn't an iso scorer and he's not a guy who wants to control the ball at all times. Why would he choose Kobe as his favorite player or choose Kobe over LeBron? This is a different direction from Kobe Bryant that we're headed in and I think it's the right direction.

I honestly don't see it as a big deal. Just because he's a Laker now doesn't mean Lonzo has to prefer Kobe over LeBron. He respects Kobe and that's clear, but it's easy to see why Lonzo was drawn more to LeBron. Same reason Kobe was drawn to Michael.

That ball holding thing is just how things go in the NBA, it's just better when it's in Laker hands lol Fultz
