i turned the game off after near consecutive possessions wherein lonzo hit a tightly contested off-the-dribble three and then AD fouled derozan on a three.

you can tell when it's not your night.

Good for him. He sure changed his shot mechanics for the better. Lavar the genius coach …. thanks Pops for letting me continue with below my face off my left shoulder …. because I starting making them.

Props to all the peeps who called Zo years earlier and seen his potential on this forum.

    I wasn't one of them.

He has turned out to be better than Russell so far, IMO.

    He is playing great.

    I was wrong.

The guy is averaging like 12/5/5...

Its not like he is an all-star. I don't think ANY fan here would have been happy with a #2 Pick that averages 12/5/5 unless he is the clearcut best defender in the NBA.

Lonzo is a role player. Russell had superstar potential but just isn't as "consumed" by basketball as he needs to. He has not progressed at all since his early days in the NBA.

i think he's what several of us thought he was going to be: a very good glue guy. problem is that he can't even be your third-best player.

i think most of us would have kept him if we could have, though. but we weren't going to get AD without including him. ironically, NO essentially just let him walk later.

i'll be curious to see if he gets the yips in the playoffs. he was yippy here.

I don't think so. I think he's been more than that this season, and he's getting better.

A lot of what he does doesn't show up in stats but you know that.

And I didn't think he would even be a glue guy. I thought he was a bust.

He is playing a perfect style in a perfect system.

    Good things ahead for him.

    Possibly.

I just like the way he's playing this year.

Ahh man that sucks! Kid’s had a tough time with injuries from the start, but this sounds like it’s a real problem. Was that surgeon not on his game or just something in his physical makeup not responding well to the procedure.

Wonder if Gelo is still trying to play professionally and if ultimately he’d have done better if Pops hadn’t yanked him out of his scholarship ride at UCLA following the China debacle.

Wow, am reading in the LA Times that Jalen Hill, George Hill's son and one of the other players involved in the China event is dead at 22. Had quit UCLA basketball in 2021 after apparently putting too much stress on himself. Something not being released by family happened to him "after he went missing on a Costa Rica trip". Jeezus .... 22 years old. That's terrible. Here's another link.

i mean, he was injured all the time here, too. that and the fact that he was in his head re: shooting were my main concerns with him. his hoop iq is off the charts, as are his size and athleticism for his position. he played 63 games once in his career. otherwise, it's been 52, 47, 55, 35, and, thus far this year...zero. and people complain about AD. the two guys we traded for him have been in streetclothes as much or more often!

Feel sorry for the kid, he might be the only sane person in the whole family.

Anyone ever notice that from certain angles of view LeBron’s shot has a “tiny” bit of Lonzo’s old funky left side of head center release going on?

Yeah it’s a shame really as he did completely rebuild that shot to good effect now and is a real nice player when he’s healthy.
