The shot still has too low of a starting point (where he brings it up from is like the absolute prime area to get stripped) and takes too long to go from wind up to release. I’m rooting for him, but I can still see this not being great in games, or even him reverting to old form with guys rushing at him.

oh yeah, it's still not a great-looking shot. but the truth is, he doesn't have to make threes on the move or with guys flying at him. just when teams refuse to guard him. that will really open up the floor for his passing.

really annoyed he fixed this and got out of those stupid shoes AFTER we traded him.

i watched some of the game to see that in particular. the part i watched, he shanked two just like he was wearing a gold uniform. he was 3-8 for the game, which would be an improvement, though. teams will definitely be giving it to him.

but it's like our problem with rondo: he may shoot 37% on those wide open threes, but the spacing he's costing us on every other possession may not make it worth it.

It’s wild to me how much praise our former players are getting on ESPN today. I mean good for Zo, but they keep showing the 3 threes he hit like he was on fire. That’s all he hit, he was 3-8 from 3, and 3-10 overall. He’s the same guy. Same with Ingram, dude still has to struggle with every iso to score. I’m rooting for both kids, but the way ESPN keeps saying the pelicans put together this really good team by getting rid of AD is hilarious when they mocked our players for YEARS, especially all last year because they were “wasting a year of LeBron”

The American press has cluster f'ed itself to death in this country. Nothing any major publication writes or says, is worth more than the same opinion expressed by a 4 year old with social problems.

The press should be a complete embarrassment to each and every American. Not sure how to fix it, but our press needs to be reset. They have F'ed the golden goose!

I'm basically intrigued with Lonzo's skill set as if he were a 2K player or something. I love the idea of a passing / defensive savant developing into a NBA star level player. But all the rapping, the IG posts, the goofiness, and 2 years of his dad's antics; basically who he is off the court - good riddance.

yeah, i like the theory of lonzo, but we haven't yet seen it, and he caused and failed to fix a lot of his own problems here.

i'm annoyed that he finally overhauled that horrific shot and stopped wearing inferior shoes only after reality spanked him a bit. if he had been more focused, he might still be a laker as he wanted from the beginning.

same way i feel about russell, really, who i think cut back on the drinking/drugs after he got shipped.

of course, if it's a pattern, the organization should look at themselves, too. why are young guys getting their act together elsewhere? is it because they matured and they were only 19 when they played in la (simple answer)? or is it because our organizational culture doesn't foster maturation?

Yes....hated losing himf or nothing...but 45 mio. reasons to be happy that he isn't on the Lakers anymore.

He got an insane contract and I'm very happy for him. One of the real class acts in the NBA and a great role model for young athletes. But he will cripple the salary cap for years and I'm happy its not the Lakers.

suppose that's part of why he was lost for nothing (relevant to other thread): you don't want to be on the hook for potential, particularly when guys have already had some time to prove things and haven't made a real leap.

Imminently as they listen to him and see that stupid face doing what it does. And certainly when he starts threatening Lonzo won't extend his rookie contract with them if they don't also draft Melo. After this season in Australia though he may not be a horrible option. Nevertheless they will come to hate him.
