That said, I’m hoping he comes out and has a great game tonight. The Cavs are terrible and should be a good opponent for him to have a break out game.
Solid game from Zo for sure on both ends. I loved the aggressiveness and he really took it to the rim a lot tonight...and this was on the road. We need this from him every night though and I'm not convinced he's goign to give that to us consistently yet....
You’ve shown you can drive to the hoop and be effective, now do it every night. He has size on most opposing PGs almost every game, he has the strength now, he has the speed, USE it. Really nice game though, loved the aggression and taking it to the hoop even the last 2 times where he missed.
Coaching staff needs to continue to harp on him working on his post game and attacking the basket. It changes his entire career arc. From role player to star
He still looks quite hesitant because he lacks shot variation in the paint. Unfortunately the knee surgery prevented him from working on it this past summer, so we'll have to wait for another offseason to see vast improvements in this area.
I'm really annoyed with how he passed up that layup for a turnover late in the game. Other than that I liked Ball's game tonight. I know metrics aren't in his favor, but what he does in movement on both sides of the ball benefits the team in a big way. I don't know how that's measured. He also might have the same problem T-Mac had - the nonchalant expressions suggest they aren't playing as hard, or not "intense". I expect him to get better, but I think Ball's stepping up.
Finally a good game from Lonzo. He did get a lot of wide open layups from the Cavs (worst team in basketball). I doubt he gets the same lanes against other teams. But in the past he wouldn't even take advantage of "freebies". So its progress. But anything that helps him get his confidence back is a step in the right direction. Happy with him tonight. He also didn't shoot an airball.
hopefully a light went off. the cavs dared him to take layups, like everyone else has, and he took them!
Needs to work with Kobe on his facial expressions. Youknow... the ones where he looks like he is going to murder someone. An opponent, his own teammate, or even a coach.
Very good game. I don't know what was causing his offensive woes the previous two, but I'm glad he's driving to the hoop which will open up his three more. He's got a LONG way to go to be a consistent scoring threat out there on a regular basis. But still, I've been counseling patience because his defense, rebounding and passing have been very good. I don't know what some of you were watching with the Miami game because he did great in those departments and helped us win that game. Yes, he only scored two points. But I think that will be more of an aberration than a regular thing. It's still something I'm not terribly worried about given all the other things he does. I'm way more concerned with Kuz's complete lack of D and Brandon Ingram's stretches of nothingness on either end.
He’s a solid player, but he’s not meeting fan’s expectations of a #2 pick. He’s been set up for failure like tons of young players before him. Magic and his merch slinging father didn’t help the cause by predicting we’d see a transcendent talent. Signing Lebron mutes some of his best abilities, and I think he’ll be moved in trade unless he can adjust to the role and improve his shooting.
