Again, I like Lonzo and think he has a lot of potential. The hype is out of hand though and I hope folks are ready for him to go through the normal growing pains of a young point guard.
Why would anyone here hate on or be annoyed at Ball for things OTHERS are saying about him. He never claimed to be a savior, most he said was he's a leader. He's not LeBron, he didn't get drafted #1 overall, get talked about as the next Jordan out of high school, and above all tattoo "Chosen1" on his chest in huge letters. I'm not getting the hate, annoyance, and sarcastic comments lobbed this kids way right now. He may not have done a ton to warrant a lot of the hype yet, but he hasn't done anything to warrant the hate either.

I watch the kid's tape from UCLA and I all I can think to myself is I get it. I understand all the hype and anticipation. Some of the passes he makes are insane. LeBron esque type passes. For all the complaining about his shot he's a very efficient shooter. He just brings an energy to the game. Think all the fans in Los Angeles are lucky they're gonna get to see this young man put on a show at the Staples Center. He's electric and dynamic and he's gonna get fans out of their seat. Lonzo will make this team watchable again. Other fans won't be b****ing about the Lakers being on TV so much because they're gonna wanna watch this kid do his thing.
I've seen passes by Lonzo and I've simply said, "I've seen enough." In the voice Jerry West used when he saw Kobe.
someone else in a different thread suggested that you're borderline trolling and this a perfect example. Why bring up DLo? Why do you need to mock DLo to boost Ball? You're bringing him into the discussion when it's neither asked for nor needed. Let it go man. Some of us were excited to see them play together in the backcourt. Now Russ is gone and a lot of very high on Lonzo's future. I don't really see the need to put down a 20 yr old, 3 year player that was not currently in this discussion.
I hope Ingram is working on his 3 pt shot ... 55/187 will not do. With Ball he's going to get a lotta looks need to bump that 29.4% to 35-40% range.
Does anyone know of any highlight videos that focus on Lonzo's passing/playmaking ability? Because I honestly haven't seen much of it. Not being too into college sports, I would usually only occasionally tune into UCLA games and have them on in the background. I was captivated by Lonzo pretty quickly, but that was mainly from a few highlight dunks, step-back J's, and incredibly deep three pointers. Then later when it was more relevant to us and it started looking like we'd have a chance to pick him, that's when I started hearing all the hype about him being a transcendent playmaker And I still haven't really seen it. Most of what I've seen have been pushing in transition, simple passes to cutters, and assists where he makes a simple pass to a shooter who then hits the shot. Haven't really seen anything where he dissects the defense in the half court to create opportunities for others. Haven't really even seen any sizzling highlight passes that match up with DLo's highlights. And if it's not clear already, I love Lonzo so I'm not trying to be negative. Genuinely curious.
