Phenomenal game from Lonzo. He totally controlled the action out there. Triple double, yes, sure, but 16 rebounds? Are you kidding me? So good.

Oh yeah, can't wait for the crickets tomorrow on the radio about this. Lonzo has a subpar game they are all over him as a bust. Lonzo gets a triple double? Nothing. Nothing at all. Disgusting.

Triple double, in a win. I’m sure he’s much happier with this one than his first, and I’m glad to see him bounce back and really put his stamp on a game, be more aggressive. Consistency is always going to be the thing with a rookie, so I expect ups and downs, but I’m very happy for the kid when he has a good game. And yes, the media won’t say jack, because positivity doesn’t sell. Hating hard on a 20 year old kid sells.

I'm just not sure how anyone can watch Lonzo play and not see how good he is. He is going to dominate and revolutionize the game. It will not be too many more seasons till the NBA starts keeping hockey assists because of his play. Once his shots start falling, and they will, we are going to knock off 6-7 wins in a row and be right back in it. Ball and Kuz are going to be all-stars for ten or twelve seasons each.

Agreed. They aren't watching the actual games or they wouldn't be saying such stupid things. Well, maybe Stupid A Smith would be anyway.

Said it a few pages back, but casual fans who don’t have a high understanding of the game will say that Lonzo is a bust, but despite his shooting issues he does so things to help the team win. He rebounds. He has great outlet passes igniting fast breaks. He is smart and instinctive defensively. Good hands.

As far as just passing the basketball he is a generational type passer. The kinds of reads he makes and decisions. The ability to see a play or two ahead. The accuracy on some of his dimes. When he’s on the court and he makes a play for his teammates all of a sudden they start to wanna make plays. That’s the effect and impact the kid has.

He’s gotta continue to work on his shooting obviously and finishing around the basket, but I honestly believe he has a chance to be one of the top overall players in the league 2-3 years down the road once his shooting gets there and I believe it will in time. A few years to develop physically. To gain experience in this league. Just love his intangibles.

What a bust! .... Man I love this kid, the best highlights from him to me was his defensive intensity, I swear I think no one scored on Lonzo today and I mean no one! The 2 blocks on mudiay were awesome. Also of course you can't forget the triple double, this kid has all the talent just gotta keep working in the lab with that shot and it's a rap!

Great game. Should give him a few days of peace from his doubters.

fantastic game, and i'll be the a******: there's no reason he can't impact games like that on the regular. i feel like he's had several games of late wherein he let his bad shooting affect everything else. in this one, his fingerprints were all over the game, on both ends, and consistently throughout the contest. so many little things that don't show up in the box score, like poking balls loose for others to rebound/steal and walling off drives or deterring lobs from the backside. triple doubles can't happen every night, but all that stuff can.

This. My biggest worry with Lonzo through this stretch wasn't necessarily his shooting, it was what his shooting seemed to be doing to the rest of his game. Not comparing him to Kobe, but in Game 7 against the Green Turds he couldn't hit the broad side of the barn, but he kept being aggressive and doing anything else he could. Lonzo doesn't even need to be as maniacal as Kobe to affect the game with his passing and play making.

    ^^ Spot on.

What was starting to become difficult to watch was his attitude. The kid is young and was clearly beating himself up out there. I thought walking away from his teammates wasn't because he didn't care about his teammates, but because his mind is so far away from the game right now that he wasn't responding correctly to what was happening. He wasn't in the moment and focused.

My favorite part of his game is how he helps the team win when he's playing well. He'll box out, he'll make the extra rotation, he'll make the small play and all of those will lead to the big play. I believe wholeheartedly in this kid and like I said: anyone who thinks he's a bust just doesn't understand basketball. This kid is special, he's just a kid. Seeing him dominate games like this give me great hope for the future.
