He might have earned a shot at supplanting Beasley in the rotation. So much respect for him coming through with this performance in arguably one of the most important games of the seasons after so many DNP’s in a row. He wasn’t just chucking up shots to try to take advantage of finally getting playing time again, he was playing within the offense and attacking in the right situations
Was going to come and post this same thing. I have not really paid attention to a comparison of the defensive abilities between Beasley and Walker, curious what others think?? Walker seems like he has a better inside outside game. Beasley's overall shooting percentage is crappy. Not sure I think he is the better option between these two. ????
Huge game from Lonnie the 4th. I love that he staid ready for when his number was called. As I mentioned in the Ham thread, I think the rotations were too short especially when both Dlo and Beasley were bricking. Lonnie should’ve been subbed in if they were sucking instead of DNP’d. That was lazy of Ham and also didn’t make sense. Anyway nice to see Walker back in the mix and contributing. I’d still like to keep him if possible just because he’s a good player.
honestly it shouldn't shock anybody that Lonnie can play like this - he was literally our 3rd best player at the beginning of the season. Unfortunately for him, once Schroder returned, and Ham was married to the stupid 3-guard lineup...he was phased out kind of. Then we bring in Dlo/Beas, he was phased out even more. I absolutely love how deep this team is though....we have an injury to a key player in D-Lo, and LW4 comes in and drops 20 points. I feel like we are more like the Clippers now where if we have an injury, it actually doesn't hurt us as much and it's truly a "next man up" mentality and guys get opportunities to play, which is really good for team chemistry. Credit to LW4 for staying READY and delivering for us in the biggest game of the year. Shows you a lot about his character and his resilience. That's a guy I want on this team moving forward.
Sucks that he's been out of the rotation, his athleticism is something we don't have anywhere else on the team. On a full/healthy team I'd think we would ride whoever has the hotter hand between him and Beasley. Also its great to have him as insurance at the end of the bench instead of being like our 5th best player. Much better roster construction.
That was a huge game for Lonnie. I honestly forgot for a minute that he was on the roster, but what a luxury to go from him being our 3rd best player the first however many games of the season, to now being a super useful emergency player in case of injury. Huge threes all game long, he definitely stayed ready and had been a total pro.
Garbage time but the dude is a straight scorer. Hope this shows the coaching staff that we can go to him if Malik doesnt have it next round
