All these free meals the last few days instead of being at the gym working himself in shape... There you go.
Not sure what everyone is freaking out about. We have the #2 pick in the draft, and he'll be a stud in 5 years! which doesn't help us today unfortunately....
He's going to be a stud this year. We will be amazed at how much better our guys around him will be. And I truly believe that. No qualifier needed happily. Wink wink.
LOL. Maybe you'll meet (if you're not spoken for already) this really hot looking gal dat your party and you guys will be hitting it off already..... when news will come of an amazing Lakers development (for real) and it will turn that into another one of those best Lakers nights of your life? Need my mugs to toast with you that flashback to a happier Lakers time.
Spencer Haywood went 30-19.5 in his rookie year at age 20. ROY, All Star MVP and regular season MVP in time when the ABA was better than the NBA. It's happened but that's about the only time I can think of that a player had that kind of impact in a first year being that young.
Other than Randle and Clarkson...who are these other guys thou speaketh of? Did I miss something during this free agency period? Will Russell have to surgically remove the ball from 24's mitts to make an impact or will he become Sessions Revisited? Who's buying the groceries? Seriously...Summer League can't arrive fast enough.
True. But if he's clutch and a big time shooter in addition to having Magic lite passing skills, maybe he will be a stud his first year.
Ramon Sessions? Russell? Shirley you jest. Nah, Kobe would have let Nash run a lot of the show if he had been healthy. He took over when it was obvious Nash couldn't move any more. Besides, that's our 4 headed monster at times. Kobe, Russell, Randle and Clarkson can all create their own shots and for others. It will be interesting to see how Kobe, like Russell says of himself, figures out his best way to be effective this year. I doubt he thinks himself dominating the ball (for lack of other options) is the hot ticket now.
Nash was Nash..."was" being the operative word currently. Of course, Russell is worlds removed from Sessions that is obvious if the near unanimous praise is true. My point is that Russell will have to stand up for himself and not be glowered into a corner. He will have to show the goods right away to 24 who is never known to be patient very long. Well...that would be Scott's problem. We still need a small forward and big boy muscle in the middle so the kids don't end up doing too much. Then again the kiddie corps probably don't know any better. Ignorance is bliss, no? 24 will play The Fisher role albeit a cranky one.
Already got a wifey going on 2 1/2 years so I'm good in that regard. Who knows, maybe LMA throws everyone off and we snag him. Or maybe Mitch replies to my email lol
That is time machine stuff, bonk. I remember Haywood being on the 1980 championship squad. That season, he helped the Peruvian GNP, married a model and fought a teammate over a tape cutter. Ended up with no playoff shares.
2 things, I'm old and I live in the greater DC area.... he's in the local BB community back here. Knees, coke and arrogance sidelined what could have been a legendary career. Isn't he getting in the hall this year? I thought I read that somewhere.
