Woj is just mad because he has no inside source with the FO:giggle:

We need to drop the big man idea if this is true, and I wouldn't doubt WOJ. The other bigs are either not happening (Jordan, Brooks) or bad fits - Love, Monroe.

We should shift our focus to a SF - Harris or Carroll and try to keep Ed Davis. Otherwise we're going to be in trouble.

Woj's tweet said we didn't leave a "strong" impression, didn't say we didn't leave a good one. I know that's slightly nitpicking, but it's also just one report. I saw others tweeting that it went well, and blah blah. Who knows? I highly doubt we rubbed him the wrong way. We don't know what's really important to him, but Woj has been saying for days now that we're not frontrunners for LMA, which is contrast with almost everyone else's reports, so his tweet today isn't all that surprising.

I know Woj is the best, but who knows if his sources are being fed a Spurs agenda or God knows what else? This isn't over until it is, and we'll be just fine even if we don't land LMA. I promise you that.

Carroll is already gone and Harris is still technically a RFA. Until we strike out on all of the UFA (including Monroe and Love), then we send that offer sheet to Harris asap.

Ok by me. I was somewhat unimpressed by LMA as well. He was the best option in a weak FA year. He was never going to be able to become a future cornerstone player anyway. It would have been fun to make an immediate Playoff run, but I am glad this means we are keeping all our three young guns.

I don't disagree, just losing faith in our FO that's all.

From a roster standpoint, I'm fine. We'll get someone and we'll move forward likely with the youth movement which is exciting. I just am getting tired of hearing our FO fail in these meetings.

I place calls now because the longer we wait, the faster he could be gone too. Atlanta already showed interest in him and could aim for a sign and trade with Millsap to Orlando.

When we signed Kobe to that r******* contract that gives only one max slot. Had we signed Kobe to something different, we could be telling Aldridge we will be bringing him in to play next to "insert player here."

But I gotta say I'm not too upset if we don't get LMA. And if we don't get Jordan, I won't really cry a river either. We have two guys who have all-star cornerstone potential in Russell and Randle. We have two more young cats who could be big time contributors on a championship level team in Clarkson and Black. And we also have possibly one of the top 6-7 players in the draft if he can keep his head on straight in Upshaw. Even if we sign no free agents, I am still pumped about this next season.

I think a good course of action at this point is to go after Wade at about 18 million on a one year deal. Try to dump Nick Young and then go after Chandler as well.

    Chandler/Upshaw
    Randle/Black
    Kobe/Nance
    Wade/Clarkson
    Russell/Clarkson

Kobe, Wade and Chandler can get away with playing limited minutes, even sitting out games throughout the season. Then when playoff time comes around, we unleash the crafty veterans. We get our youngin's some playoff xp. Sounds like the perfect one-year plan to me.

I mean a call doesn't hurt, but if you tie up an offer sheet with him only for it to be matched or declined in the days it takes to accept it, especially how fast free agents are moving right now, it's going to hurt.

You said it too, if the DJ, Monroe, (or Love) meetings didn't feel right, go right after Harris.

I hope so. I'm worried the FO just doesn't understand how to relate to FAs though. Mitch seems like a tremendous GM, but is he a salesman? Are any of the Buss kids?

Well nothings done yet, so lets all chill. In reality think about it, The Spurs and Pop are the competition for a 30 yr old FA looking to win now. Aldridge was presented with a sales pitch on a group of young promising players who the jury is still out on. I don't think it's so much about Mitch and Company doing a bad job but being honest in what they are willing to do and not do. Jordan more than likely is not interested either, Monroe...I don't know if I'd even want him. Now if they picked up Love which could happen I would say it's a good off season.

Damn way to remember Wade. I wonder what he's thinking right now watching all these guys flying around the league?

Greg Monroe is what Jahlil Okafor was gonna be this year if we drafted him. How awesome is it to get a double double machine without breaking the bank and having the luxury of growing with our young guys. 25 years old, far from his prime but already a contributor. I think that beats LMA

Hey man I'm calling it like I see it: if we can't make an impression on a 2nd tier guy like Aldridge, then that's not a good sign. We should at least have left a good impression, but he picks somewhere else. I'm fine with that.
