Portland wouldn't seem to be in a leveraging position. If LMA decides to go to the Lakers they can get something or not. I'm not sure they don't take something over feeling good that they kept us from getting another max player. It would seem that the business side of it would take over at that point.

No way I'd trade Clarkson and Russell. That backcourt has high potential. Randle is loved here and I like his potential as well but if we are going after a guy who says he want's to play PF only it would seem that the team sees him a little differently than the fans. It's hard to tell if we want LMA that much or just want to be relevant again and he's the biggest name on the market who will move.

They wouldn't have salaries that high. Even if the Lakers get rid of everyone who isn't Randle, Kobe, Clarkson, and Russell they'd only have 30 million left to spend. They'd have salaries starting at 15 million which would be a fairly significant pay decrease for both of them.

I could do a Robin Lopez and Alridge front court. Make it happen, Mitch. I have a really good feeling about this; never felt 'right' about Carmelo. I am confident we'll blow his mind tonight.

In some ways I like RoLo more. He's more comfortable being who he is and I like that.

Agreed... I wouldn't mind that big, crazy haired goof who's just happy to be there and slop all the s**t. The other four on the floor with him don't have to worry about having to throw him a pass unless it is for a lay-up. Unless of course, Black, Davis or Upshaw become viable alternatives.

It's a cheaper pairing that has chemistry. One we could afford by dumping Swaggy. We don't know what kind of chemistry DJ and LMA would have. We also wouldn't have to dump our entire team. Our young guys and depth might be better than the addition of DJ when factoring in those losses. And there's still a place for Randle and minutes for him.

I'm much more in favor of this move.

Find a way to dump Young, Kelly, and Sacre. That's plenty of money for Robin.

It's good, but it's not great. I mean, it's much better than last season, but we need a PG, too.

He deserves as much as lunks like Asik. Freed up cash by trading away those tertiary guys gives us enough to offer 7-9 million which is fair. Asik is looking at around 10 million or so, Robin shouldn't be far behind if behind at all!

Clarkson though a neophyte at the 1 has shown he has the ability to pull it off. I say that crew needs a solid wing at the 3 like we have touched on elsewhere. Nancey and Brown are way too...well, they're rooks.

I honestly think this is leverage from DJ's camp towards the Clippers so DJ can get paid what he deserves. "hey Doc, Lakers are clearing space for both DJ and LMA." Clippers panic, trade Lance and give DJ his pay day.
