I just learned how I overrated the guy because the media really elevated this "championship" coach and I really didn't care much about the Clippers to check his record:Kobe Snickering:

Here's the thing with Doc. He won ONE championship despite being a very mediocre coach his entire career other than that one season. And in that one championship season, Tom Thibodeau was the defensive coach. Defense was that teams callling card. Tom left tot he Bulls and overachieved for the first couple years.

To be fair, he did a pretty good job with the Clips last year.

Anyway, I hope they retain him. If not, Antoni would also be a fantastic fit with that team :)

I'm still blown away that with all the Lob City teams and talent and all the hype about how f****** deep and talented their roster was this year .... that over 7 seasons all tolled he has won only 3 playoff series. LOL.

He's a good coach but he doesn't seem willing to bench his guys. Vogel in comparison finally ditched McGee and is willing to play anybody to close
The obvious answer with Denver would have been to play Zubac in the 4th in games 5,6,7 yet he went with Harell

Both Doc and Morey are mediocre at their respective jobs and produced very little results. I don't know how these guys get a pass in the media and people are not calling for their jobs. Literally no playoff success the entire decade and their jobs are still secure.

That is actually a CRAZY stat - the fact that doc rivers has only won THREE PLAYOFF SERIES in his 7 YEARS is unreal. And the teams he beat were pretty damn good in that first round...GS, San Antonio and Dallas. That's how you know you're a choke artist coach...they beat an up and coming Warriors squad, they beat the defending champion San Antonio Spurs, and they beat a Luka Doncic Mavs and yet they still choked in the 2nd round despite all the momentum in the world in all those years. God, Clippers fans have reallyyyyyyyyy suffered.

he also did a good job with a ragtag orlando bunch once, too. i agree that his title was a bit misleading, though. if i were a bad team that needs to get respectable (sacramento, for example), i'd hire him. but to get over the top? he wouldn't be my guy.

eh, morey's had success in houston. lots of it. but he and the press talk such a big game about him that you'd think he'd have been the architect of a dynasty instead of a consistent 2nd round playoff participant.

The Clipper fans wanted Doc gone, so they will be happy. I wonder who they go after?
