Could be because Melo being a star, famously said it first, that if following players see similar or same character issues like back stabbing or not being straight up and truthful with players with Karl, that they reference Melo's characterization in some form.

Karl had had some really talented teams in seatle and denver but with A- stars. Not enough to beat MJ and Kobe/Shaq. Maybe he's a little bitter and defensive and the snake in the grass comments are legit. Love to here the Glove's take on Karl.

Between the #2 pick, Randle, and Clarkson you offer Sacramento 1 of the 3, MAX. Anything involving Randle or Clarkson could be dangled with the #27 or #34. Anything involving the #2 pick should require the inclusion of #6 coming with Cousins. If Sactown scoffs at the offers then the Lakers should just walk away from the table and dare them to find better. As far as I'm concerned, the increasing circus this is becoming around the Kings organization has taken all leverage they should have had in a potential Cousins deal and thrown in out the window. They can't possibly sit through 3 more years of this.

And for your first couple of months on the job, thank you George Karl. Would love to hear some of those front office conversations after he just nuked the already strained relationship they had with their star player. George, like Phil is finding out, you're not bigger than the talent you have to work with. And George has mostly had fairly to very talented teams.

thank god.... If we do end up trading either Clarkson, Randle, or Oakfor or any of our picks, I'll be very pissed. We are rebuilding, why rush to a win now situation? We'll suck if we do that...

Gotta love Karl...he wants to roll out the Sacramento Nuggets apparently....the Nuggets will GLADLY unload all of those players for Cousins and Gay, and keep their 7th pick to draft Mudiay or Payne. The Kings will be stuck in mediocrity for years on end...god George Karl really is the worst. So glad we didn't hire him when we had the chance. He's a good regular season coach but playoffs? He always chokes...can't run a half court offense to save his life.

You have to love Lakers rumors. They rile up the fan base and they hardly ever come true. I still think the Lakers should build around youth. If they play their cards right, they will build another dynasty! Ok, that could be wishful thinking.

Screw the Queens. There's lots of new stuff today about the big feud between Cousin's camp and the Kings, and that Karl is pushing hard to oust him. All the talk from the Sac FO about "untradable" is just pure, obvious hype and a desperate attempt to act like they have the power here and drive their price up. They have to move him. Mitch can play poker, he learned from the best. He'll get DMC for 3 packs of smokes by the time he's done.

My fav thing about DMC is he's still only 24, almost 25, he can improve and stop taking jumpers for one if someone can get him to stop. He posts up awesomely and can't be fronted by pretty much anyone very well however you still have to make the shot. Quick, strong and a damn good passer, doesn't mind bangin' inside. But .347 from 3ft out to the 3 pt line which accounts for 58% of his shots? .318 from 3-10 ft (which accounts for 26% of his total attempts)...DMC shoots .632 at the rim which is only so-so for an elite big (D Howard .737 - A Davis .734 - M Gasol .682) considering how many of those are dunks. Beyond several feet out DMC just doesn't warrant pulling a defender away from the post.

Comparing DMC to some elite college kids isn't fair to either. College kids obtain their stats vs college level defenders but DMC has some hype attached to himself as well. Okafor's overall FG% is higher (.663) than DMC's "at rim" %s. Granted it's college and rim protection tightens up in the pros but he already has the skills to deal with the next level defenders. He hits well out to 13ft and more importantly, doesn't try very much beyond that though he's 45% from the elbows. I know the 2 don't compare defensively right now and possibly, never will but we can't say what Okafor may do to that end of his game.

And Towns, right now he's only weak from the right baseline everywhere else looks great, plays both ends too. Mitch has no reason to cave for Sacramento.

Karl is fools gold. I don't care what his record is or how many wins he has, he's not a good coach. When you have several players making literally the same comment, there's a problem.

Cousins is a good player on a bad team putting up great stats. I'd rather have a less talented (and with Okafor, even that's debatable) player with a great head on his shoulders and has won at EVERY level so far.

If Cousins was as good as advertised, the Kings wouldn't be in the position they are in year in and year out. They had Rudy Gay and Isaiah Thomas next to him season before last and they couldn't crack 30 wins (28). Yes, he's only 24. But this 5 year sample size is starting to show trends. He gets his stats, and then what? Everyone bangs on Kevin Love for getting stats, but Minny missing the playoffs. His last season in Minny they finished with 40 wins.

If Isaiah Thomas and Rudy Gay are the best that Sacramento could do to attempt to put pieces around Sacramento, then they have failed miserably. Cousins is not completely blameless; he's contributed his part to this, too. However, he's a heck of a talent, and when actually seeing progress to an 11-10 record last year, he went out with viral meningitis; subsequently, Mike Malone is fired, Cousins is bewildered, and they hire a coach that doesn't emphasize big men in the post.

Having said that, this is why it's completely imperative we add free agents to go with our own young men that we have acquired through the draft and create a winning environment. You learn good habits, you do things the 'Laker Way', and become champions. Hypothetically, if we drafted Cousins, his story would have a completely different outcome. I'm that confident in our culture, in our brand, in our management, etc.

WTS, I just want Thursday to come, draft Okafor, and go in that direction.

totally agree. kings have always been a joke of a franchise and the way they go about things is like a circus. they havent been the same since divac/cwebb/peja/bibby days

they had a gem in cousins and they squandered that opportunity.

i dont think we'll ever know if cousins would have been a diff player had he grown up in a diff squad but the definite thing is that the kings didnt bring him up the right way

    'nuff said
