He's also said he's more focused on team oriented ball (ie defense and passing). I think if we leaned on him again he could still give us 20 any given night.
I also think he's just not getting as many touches, nor is looking to do as many things as earlier in the year. But I do also agree with what has been said. Between his fingers and all star break coming up it would be good for him to recharge a little.
Teams are also starting to catch on about him. They're denying him more, playing more a bit more aggressively, he's got a name around the league now. He needs a little bit of rest, and some more run with Ingram/Zo when they get back so that he gets some easier looks.
I also think Luke needs to stop his obsession to turn every player into a PG. Some guys are supposed to be doing what they do best this early in their careers. Especially a rookie, you let him figure out on the court where he fits. Then after a year or two you start to add things to his game that you think he has the potential for. I do understand that you don't want them to have bad habits but you have to let them unfold their game a little bit. I think Kuzma might now be more focused on pleasing Luke than just playing his game without hesitation. I think Luke didn't do a good job with Randle and Russell...you would think he has a little bit more finesse at this point handling young guys.
It'll be a per game basis, we all know Luke likes to ride the hot hands when it gets down to the nitty gritty.
Both Ju and Kuzma were asking what dunk was better and they both said Ingram. But I'm going with Kuzma. It was more powerful in my opinion and he jumped farther out from the basket to finish. Also loved how the ball just exploded out of the basket and pretty much went into the stands. That's how you finish them Kuz!
Josh Hart’s face in that picture. He’s like whew, I get a break from the rookie hazing. Then a second later he remembered that Twitter is still anywhere and everywhere.
Owned the third as he's shown the knack for... Liked that quick decision to pass instead of shooting to Randle for the and one. Had a great block too. Good to see Kuzma with Ingram. Two versatile forwards that can create and handle...
