The future is Zo and Kuzma. I like Ingram too, but these 2 for me are untouchable. Yeah, he’s not an amazing defender, but he’s a rookie, and all players have flaws. Kuz has so many moves, he’s putting on an offensive show lately.

There's really not a good argument for that outside of the last few games. Again, not trying to take anything from Kuzma, but it's just not true and certainly the voters won't agree with you either.

And again: it really doesn't matter. Name the last 5 ROYs and tell me what their careers have amounted to. With the number of young kids entering the NBA these days, the most prepared rookie is rarely a metric that lasts. The most talented kids are too young, soft, and inexperienced to generally compete against pros for the first 2-3 years of their careers.

And actually he's been pretty great defensively in these last few games. Very disciplined in man defense and occasionally a good help defender too.

If he wants to be fired he will. No crappy defense excuses he can use anymore.

He very well might. But we can hope otherwise, he needs to start AND finish games. I like Randle in his bench role now, and Nance and Randle can play together. Nance has no business starting over Kuz anymore.

ROTY is meaningless for those who got it without making an impact, true. That's the 5 ROTYs you're mentioning.

But if Kyle continues this spectacular display on his way to claiming it, that's another story.

If he is playing like he is now -- endorsements will carry him through these tough tough times...

Josh Hart played in college for 4 years and plays impressive D for a rook because of that experience.

Kuz is also a player who played 3 years in college. How much can he really improve on the defensive end in years to come?

I think many of us forget that BI is still only 20 years old. Ditto with Zo.

I don’t see Kuzma becoming an amazing defender, it’s why I said all players have flaws, as in we’re probably going to have to take the bad with the very good. But I have to point out he’s a rookie as well, 3 years of college or not, because 30 NBA games isn’t enough to learn all you need to know, player tendencies and such, he can absolutely get better. If he’s scoring 20+ like this, I can put up with so-so defense.

My point is... who the eff cares? :D He's playing great. I want to enjoy that without putting any arbitrary limits on it. If he plays like he has the last 4 games for the rest of the season, then yes he's got an absolutely great shot at ROY, but honestly I don't care and it doesn't really matter.

I think the whole team has quite a ways to grow on both ends including Hart and Kuzma which is... pretty damn impressive. We've now taken the champs to three close games. I think we have a real shot at taking the next one. We've beaten Houston. We've taken Cleveland and Boston the distance when they've been playing well.

Bring it the f*** on. Kuzma isn't afraid of anybody. I love it.

Exactly. Kobe only has 1 MVP and he probably deserved more, but in the grand scheme of things, do I care? Nope, and why? He got us 5 rings.
