funny thing to me is dinwiddie's inital comment seemed ok to me--the wizards weren't a team with big aspirations, and at that point, the mavs were. so he was disappointed they lost to the wizards. i thought kuz taking it personally almost proved dinwiddie's point. but then i heard dinwiddie's response and realized that kuz correctly figured the shot was directly at him, personally. then dinwiddie kills himself by suggesting he's a 3rd piece on a contending team (after mocking kuz for not being that). had he said something like "at least i know i'm a role player", it would be a low key burn on kuz that also makes dinwiddie seem in touch with reality. also, kuz was built for a twitter battle, and dinwiddie is clearly not.
I like it, somewhat. It was excessive though mostly true. Kuz has a ring and had some big moments in the League - playing 60 plus games each year and averaging 21, 7, and 3 this year, game winners against Boston and Denver, etc. But…he had very bad stats in the finals against the Heat, and against the Suns in the first round when AD hurt his groin. Will he get his “bag”? I am not sure. At one point I thought he could be a two-way star (not a super star) like Middleton or Siakam, capable of dropping 40 while also locking up the other team’s wing defensively. He showed he can rebound and worm when motivated. He had a stretch where he was scoring, rebounding, and defending on the Jalen Brown trajectory. But that was short lived. He is a borderline starter and inconsistent scorer. Decent rebounder. Still a poor defender at his position (doesn’t hold his ground or move his feet well) - which is the hardest position to guard in the league. Point is, I would like to see more maturity and humility from him and focus on his game, not his obvious strategies for fame, likes (staying in the Lakers’ fans good graces so intentionally), and a bag that exceeds his true team and on-court value. He needs to win more and talk less. Same for Dinsh—ie. Lol
The Wiz hadn't won a game since Nov 8th and they came into DET, who hadn't won a game since Oct 28th. Wiz had lost 9 straight, but Pistons had lost 13 straight. 13 straight games lost by Detroit. Someone hadda win. And Kuz led his hapless team before friends and family with 32/12/8. The Pistons are beyond hapless. They're dismal. But I'm writing this on a night where the 76ers beat us by 44, so there's plenty of misery to go around, eh?
Kuz… man, come on. I guess some players just want to be out there and have the green light, make their money and “have fun”. Nobody is building anything in Washington, you stay there and you will lose, always
i said it in the other thread, but i get it. he's got a ring. and i think as you said he just likes being a big dog for now. playing with luka can be tough for some guys, i bet. he can make limited players look good, but it's possible he can make some players look worse just by not allowing them room to do what they can. which makes sense, as whatever they do isn't as good as what luka will do. still, not fun.
Wow .... looking like Westbrook on all that. How odd to be so short on not one ... not two ... three.
Damn... it's hard, I don't imagine he comes into the season locked in and motivated in such a bad team, takes a lot of discipline
