Really? Couldn't find a more manly gif to express that thought?

    SMH

I was going to say something nice too, but not now. I'm going to go shave with a knife and trim my nails with sandpaper.

But that being said, there is simply no other Laker home like this on the internet. I love and appreciate all of you. @Barnstable gets double kudos keeping the community alive.

Look at Westbrook's elevation at 31 years. Nice work above Kuz.

He’s an enigma. I’ll just take games like these from him gladly and hope he has more of them than not. It does still remain a valid question if we need to trade him to get better right now though, mainly because he may not be worth paying long term because of the inconsistency.

At least give him this season and to next deadline in 2021 before you make that decision. Once he gets past the deadline this year I'm sure it won't "hurt" that he knows he's safe for his first shot at the playoffs and rest of this season. We've given up painfully enough talent, let's start keeping some that show what they can be in the great flashes. Sometimes over numbers of games.

If someone blows me away, ok, but kuz is outperforming his contract and has room to grow individually and in context of this team.

I don’t disagree at all. The problem the FO has to weigh though, is if they aren’t going to keep him long term/don’t feel comfortable paying him big money, can you trade him for a player that can help you win it all NOW. One title is always worth whatever consequences come after, they are that hard to come by. BUT, if Collison comes out of retirement and joins the team we really don’t need to even bring up trading Kuz anymore, that’s the only piece imo that we’re missing.

I keep thinking much as I like these guys .... maybe Cook and Daniels could fetch some important defense mostly physical wing big enough to throw at Leonard and Paula with 6 fouls to make them work which would leave one spot for Collison to simply fill?

Positive results from studying Pippen tape? I like when players study the greats from the past. No need in reinventing the wheel.

He has looked better. Jared Dudley told Kuzma that Kuzma should stop looking to block every shot and just stay in front of his man. It's still a work-in-progress but will be needed especially vs PG and Kawhi.

He is on his rookie deal so as long as he is half decent he is out performing his contract. I think it's more important to consider, does he help us win the championship playing as is (not as people hope his potential can be), and secondly, are we going to pay him what he wants?

To me, currently, it's probably a no to both.

really, speculating what Kuzma will be worth in summer 2021 already and assuming it won't be much more than it is atm? Kid is learning still and has an off night or 2 in the process, fine. Now is the time for that. Let him work on D, boarding and off-ball play and finding his rhythm within that without having to score 20 all the time. When we get into the playoffs it's D and hustle and off ball play that will count.

I see him working on this and he's surrounded by vets like Green, LBJ, Dudz, Avery, AD that can all help him. I want his weaknesses exposed now in the reg season so the vets and coaching staff can fine tune him. Like Rondo suggesting he guard Westbrook, that's the stuff that will improve Kuz. My money is on him being a playoff factor and improving his game straight through summer '21

I’m not speculating on his worth, I just don’t think we’re going to dedicate a large part of our cap to him when we’ve already got two max stars on the team. We need a lot of solid role players to maximise the team right now.

I’ve made my argument before, Kuzma needs usage to be effective consistently. Usage that he won’t get (especially not during the playoffs when we could really use a consistent 3rd guy). His best role is as a finisher at the 4. The exact role AD plays and he doesn’t provide value as a playmaker or defender or rebounder.

Now can he have a good night rebounding, or a goodnight with assists or a good defensive night - of course he can. But that’s not why we’ve got him on the team.
