Proving my point.... Hate beating around the bush but Sacramento wants in on Kuzma and know they would have to include Bogdan... Meaning, Kuz has to be the centerpiece of a trade if we want a player who will have an impact on the trade market. But I was told, "Kuzma has very low value and why would other GM's want him." Hmmm....

You were "told" by some that show us someone we really want and you can ship Kuz's a** out. Yes Bogdan would be nice if it could happen. Happy?

    You're having trouble following along.

    AD
    McGee
    Dwight
    LeBron
    Caruso

These are the five pieces we likely don't want to trade. The rest are all available.

Out of all the available pieces, the only trade asset that makes sense for opposing teams to take on is Kuzma and MAYBE Bradley.

    Buy-out
    Free Agents
    Trade

    Buy-out is a wait-in-progress option.
Free agents, there aren't many out there. Collison is the prized opportunity at this point but until we actually sign him, it's dangerous to wait that deep into the deadline.

So obviously the most readily available option is to trade. Kuzma is the likeliest trade piece we have and he's also not the player we have expected. If Kings find Kuzma valuable enough that they are willing to HELP us knowing they have to give up Bogdanovic, then Kuzma's value really isn't that low to some teams out there. Actually, a few teams since Shams has reported that a few teams are interested in Kuzma. So yes, Kuzma should be traded because we would get a better return (Kuzma gets shipped out, 1-3 players we don't really even use also get shipped out), and we no longer have to talk about all this nonsense about Kuzma being able to play better defense as compared to his putrid defense last season or how he's a "scorer" when he's below average compared to the league. But hey, he's the longest tenured Lakers atm so let's all pretend he's much better than he really is.. And this isn't just exclusively with the Kings. There are trades out there that could fetch us a player that will fit better than Kuzma has. Kuzma is a volume scorer. He's not going to get that opportunity with the Lakers just because he's not as efficient as others on the team such as Bron, AD, Green, KCP, etc., He's more fitted to be on a team where he can get 14-16 shots per game at his own pace.

Irrespective of whether or not you advocate trading for Kuz, I certainly hope there isn't any emotional attachment to him...

My only hope is: he's moved in the right deal. Outside of AD & Davis, everybody is up for grabs...

Dwight, Javale, and Caruso to me are pieces I would not want to see go. They are pennies on the dollars and have earned every bit of it and then some.

I received approval from my sources that if Kuzma is really a vegetarian, then it is OK to trade Batman.

    :Nope:

Not in the league as constructed. Even the best big guys need someone at guard or on the wings that can create. Just the state of the game, especially in the 3pt era.

Let’s hope we can throw Rondo in some package. Jiminy Cricket just flat out sucks.

Started the game off cold as ice but ended up with a nice line, 16 points 6 boards and that sweet lob for Dwight. Shot over 50%, good job filling in. But yeah, like Karacha said, let's see how he does with bigger minutes if AD has to miss some time.

I know some here are in favor of moving Kuz before the deadline. Personally, I'm not unless it's for someone who is a clear cut upgrade. I don't think that deal is out there, but I'm also not opposed to the FO doing their due diligence to improve the team for the second half of the season into the playoffs.

My contention is that Kuz has been doing his role fairly well. Not great, admittedly a little less than I had hoped, but he's been more banged up than expected and that has held him back a bit, IMO.

Looking at his stats vs. Bogdanovic, the two are basically dead even. Kuz is the third highest scorer on our team which is about what I had hoped or envisioned given his versatile scoring ability. He's at 12 points a game and 42.5 percentage overall, with 50% on two pointers, and 35% on threes in 23 minutes a game. Not great but not bad either. Bogdanovic is at 14.5 points a game, 42.5 percentage overall, 38% on threes and about 48% on twos in 28 minutes a game. These guys are pretty identical in terms of production at this point.

I agree. The question is whether Bogdanovic is a better defender. Also, is Bogdanovic a better... fit for lack of a better word.

Personally, the Lakers should be wooing the crap out of Collison. It would be interesting to see how Kuzma would respond with Collison as opposed to Rankdo.

yeah, i'm not giving sac much beyond kuz to get bogdan. and they won't get much more anywhere else, either, given his contract situation and their roster situation. i'm not eager to trade kuz, as i said earlier, but i agree that bogdan is a secondary playmaker/scorer, and does it in ways that might help us more than the ways kuz does it. on the other hand, i could see kuz killing it in sac back with walton in his scheme.

all the kuz hate in the press and among fans make it seem like it would be a crazy trade, but it's not that crazy. i think bogdan is the slightly better overall player.

I hear you - the fact is though we lack another "average" playmaker on this team.

Bogi brings that skill-set as a secondary ball handler that could play w/James relieving him of his ball handling duties or lead the second unit; in addition to his other talents, too.

But I doubt he's coming here...

It's time for Kuzma to step up - he will start if AD misses any time...and this is where we'll need him to shine.

Kuzma is our LeBron/AD insurance if either of them are out. Make it count, Kuz.

Yeah. If AD sits a game or 2 because of his sore butt, Kuz needs to step up or he's trade bait.

Yeah, I would rather address that through another vet PG who can play better than Rondo. Collison would be amazing. If for some reason we can't get Collison I would be up for trading Cook and Daniels for Augustin.

Ideally it would be beautiful to get Iggy as well, but I don't know if that can happen or not.

I just don’t see how we get equal or better value for Kuz who makes less than 2 million a year.

Maybe AD should consult Howard on how to heal from a sore butt.
